There has been some discussion about what his natural position is. I'm not sure what it is now although like some posters I don't think he now has the mobility for CHB. In the last 2 weeks we have got great value from him in the forward line with the occassional short term shift down the ground. In ...

That's why your called the onlooker - hope Kosi can live up to your obvious high standards. Oh and what do you do by the way? Perhaps Kosi could come around to your work and give you a critic.[/quote] Well PJ thyere is a difference between a criticism and an expectation and you can't obviously recog...

I'm looking for a consistent effort over the season. Not looking for comparisons with Nick, I want a concerted, fulltime effort for the side without serious injury.

Two former Saints immediately come to mind. The first is Eric Guy and the second is Alan Morrow. I also think Trevor Barker's name should be mentioned here but from a different perspective. When the Saints were at rock bottom they had him play positions and against opponents that should have gone to...

We have to be patient and give the guy time to build condition and confidence to play AFL level again. Given what's happened to him his return is a long term project. I reckon like others on this thread assess the situation at the end of the season.

if he's anything like his old man, he will be a hack I'm old enough to remember GT as a player and let me assure you he was no hack. Ran in straight lines, great mark, beautiful kick....tough as nails. One of the best CHB's we've ever had. He wasn't a hack and if my memory is correct I think he pla...

Agreed that Gram is in our best 22 and when on song an important cog for the Saints. When delisted at Brisbane (at the time they had better players available for the spots he was looking at - the Scott boys won out) he was a one sided player whose disposal was inconsistent and Matthews didn't have m...

This is a great post. I agree with the comments on supporters positively feeding off each other as well as the need by some to vent their frustration at what some players are doing on the ground. Other than basic skill errors the thing that gets up my nose is when a player doesn't seem to show the l...

Roo is our best forward by a long long way and must play as the key forward. If our frorward line had a full complement of player types (I am waiting for two reincarnations of the former No2 ) we could give Roo a breather every now and again and move him, but, we haven't got them at the moment so I ...

Have to agree. Accurate foot disposal skills particularly under pressure is absolutely critical in todays game plan. Saints unfortunately have more than their fair share of players where this skill can fall away too often. Some clubs seem to try and manage this through the interchange in that they d...

Here is a question for the older posters. We were testing what brain cells we have left in a discussion at home the other night. Q: Which members of the Saints '66 Premiership side (ie the 20 competing players) did not play AFL (VFL) football again after the GF win?

Consider how our structure ha looked without Riewoldt in the side. It hasn't exactly been a well oiled machine putting up 20 goals a game. Our forward line functions poorly at best when Riewoldt is playing, but its totally impotent when he's not out on the ground. Therefore I say the problem is not...

Roo is our best forward by a country mile and as such he must play the key forward position but its the absolute predictability of watching it ie just about every forward move heading in his direction that drives the supporters nuts and keeps the opposition defence happy. Without going into past for...

Re: Should Archie Fraser be terminated immediately??

Just a question re good business practice, nothing sinster and nothing against Archie's character or trustworthiness. Simply, he is still involved in the sporting industry for a competitor code. Had he moved into a different industry, then fine, keep him on until end of April. But prudent business ...
