Re: Tough Call may have to be made

We are mad if we trade Lonie. Once he gains composure in the firsts, which he will get with age/experience, he will be a gun. If he can kick straight for Sandringham, which he can, then he'll eventually kick straight at senior level. Patience..... Regarding the others, in a few years it will decide ...

Re: VFL Rd 12 Sandringham vs Northern Blues Sat 25th

I'm pleasantly surprised re the comments about JBT.
I'd assumed he was just a "token" NZ player. Will be interesting if he can keep improving.

Also nice to hear that Holmes took some contested marks.

Thanks for the reports.

Re: St Kilda condemns Frawley's joke about Caroline Wilson

I think it's hilarious how many self appointed moral guardians have been shown up on this issue. So many have been so appalled at the "violence" of a joke implying that a disliked "woman" (not a person note, a woman) being drowned. The overwrought reactions because it is a woman...

Re: Sliding Doors - we gave up Aaron Francis

We gave something up - something valuable. In this case an extremely promising young backline general/midfielder Aaron Francis. You can't give something up that you never had. Do you actually KNOW that the club rated Francis and would've taken him? Or is all this just a speculative bye round time p...

We have an Irish lad currently training with us who has been labelled the " Chris Judd " of the Gaelic comp. I kid you not. More than one irish boy training with us I hear Tony74. Is that right? http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Hh3VuN5dTJ0/VQUXLo_eRzI/AAAAAAABGmw/lCtIYbC8mWs/s1600/images-animate...

Yes. Ch7 replay Agreed with comment about Billings, he got a lot of soft ball, used it well.... But often had no opponent. McKenzie, goes real hard!!! Sinclair has Poise... Eli is a gut runner... OKearney a ball magnet .... White good overhead, and a bullet kick... Leonie has pace around the footy....

I would love Wright to make it, but his kicking would have to improve 80%.

Rice will improve with another preseason or two. Don't forget he had glandular fever this year.

To my way of thinking you could always tell Ross was going to make it. Ditto hickey if he was given a fair chance. The surprise to me is members. Agreed. I thought Membrey was just a lead up mark and would be shown up because of his height but he's looking like a 40 goal a season third tall. Will h...

Re: Poll. Most improved

One of the most improved aspects is Seb's pace.
He really seems a few yards quicker and is even running away from people.

I assume it's a reflection of his greater fitness (and his seeming slowness before was a reflection of how knackered he was) but he has improved his speed remarkably.

Re: Not a Roberton fan

He played pretty well, but would be even better if his kicks were a bit more precise.
A few were in the general vicinity of, rather than straight to his target.

Near the end of the game he was grabbing his leg.

Does anyone know if it was a cramp, or a hammy?

Wellard if you read the post of Bigmarts I quoted it was about lecturing the rest of us and didn't discuss Roberton. Hence my reaction. Why do I think Robbo is underrated? Admittedly it's on past form - the way he played a couple of years ago before he got injured. I'm judging him on that expectatio...

Re: Standalone VFL team abandoned - Sandy/Moorabbin deal ...

If they fix the quota system with Sandy then that's the biggest problem fixed already.

But if it doesn't work out, by then we'll have our own ground, and we can go stand alone.
If we want to.
