Trade week ramblings

A long week... i didn't think we did as well as we could have.. what we needed - more midfielders who can run and carry.. and more importantly better decision making and kicking skills... Ball, CJ, Eddy, Raph on the same team are our weakest links... we did ok here with Lovett and Peake despite payi...

RE: Roger Fox

Sometimes I wonder why do the lot of you even bother replying to Roger... Some observations from a bystander: 1. Roger is still bitter about GT's sacking.. For the record, GT did some good things for the club.. (onfield success 04-07, fast tracked Riewoldt/Lenny to become real leaders) but he undid ...

Dan, I understand what you are saying. Negativity for negativity sake is not constructive.. especially when the team is playing unbelievable football (albeit the last two weeks). I am more than satisfied with the team's performance and really enjoying it.. (getting up 7/8 am on the weekend to watch ...

It's a touchy topic indeed. Raph has been a whipping boy on this forum for a while (sometimes for good reason I might add).. At the moment the boy is playing ok, so, any negativity towards him is unwarranted.. especially when Gwilt and Maxy have not set the world on fire either. To me, Raph is a fru...

Re: List changes

Geez, some of yous are harsh. Cahill has carried an injury since drafted last year and you want to de-list him already? I confess I have never seen him play live apart from the Youtube video, but this kid could be a gun.. kicked 180 goals in under 18 football, far more talented than Jarryd Allen at...

I am actually talking about purely forward line players e.g. those line up forward of centre, FF or HF line need to be natural forwards. Yes, Armo and Steven could be the answer, however they aren't proven goal kicker and haven't delivered consistently unlike the players i mentioned for the other cl...

Natural Goal kickers

I was bored at home, so watched some highlights of Hawhorn v Geelong on the internet. What I noticed is that good teams have natural forwards who is capable of kick bags of goals and apply forward line pressure. So, I did a brainstorm of last year's top 4 teams and their forward line. Out of the 4, ...

Forward set up

Our forward set up has not worked well ever since the hay days of 04/05, when we had Gehrig, Riewoldt, Milne, Guerra and Hamill all patrolling the forward 50. Gehrig and Riewoldt are the big targets, Milne & Guerra the crumbers with Hamill providing the forward pressure like his life is dependin...
