If past Grand Finals are anything to go by, don't bother. Just make sure you're there in time to soak up a bit of pre-game atmosphere and see the teams come out. I'd say 45-60 minutes before the bounce would be sufficient.

I wouldn't imagine the infrastructure would be able to cope with a huge event like that. Plus I'm sure the council would be a pain in the @rse with OH&S etc.

I don't mind the foreshore as a live site. If it's a cracking day, it will be awesome on the beach!
