I reckon everyone contributed today. Rapt that some on here have pointed out what Geary was doing - on MMM harley was voted third worst on the ground. His influence was crucial to negate due to the fact that our power fwds are our strength. Milney was a bit quiet but still had 10 possies and a cruc...

No way. Every bloke who plays for the saints has to earn his spot. We've got a 7 day break. Are we going to rest players after a hard final, ie prelim? We've got brilliant fitness staff - this is where they really earn their keep. There will no doubt be some sort of let down, but we shouldn't be tak...

I'll stick my head on the chopping block and say that at the moment the backline is fine and Max should be the one left out. We need to perservere with either raph or Dempster. We need more run from the backline. Once we get the run we start to break lines and this frees up Rooey and Kosi down fwd. ...

Re: Rumour - Steve Johnson out ...
Benefit us slightly? He's there second best player. SR - never give a sucker an even break.BelfastSaint wrote:Read this on the Cats board ...Apparantly has a groin strain and will be replaced with Simon Hogan ..
Hope the rumour is true ... May benefit us slightly .....

I agree with your post Jonesy - but on today's performance, Lynch aside, none of them showed much. Dempster was good in the 2nd quarter when they were having a run at it. Goose just looks out of form, and if you can't find form after 14 rounds, well maybe that is his form.... Armo did some nice thin...

AS much as I love what Rossy Lyon has done for our club, I can't stand this micro managing of our players. Why can't Geary speak briefly with the media about his mate Selwood? Will the boogy man come and spook the team before the game if he does? The club was already made to look ridiculous trying t...

I think the big concern is that some posters are sugggesting he hasn't been in great form for Sandy. I don't care who they select, but it helps if they are in form and their confidence is up - particularly when going into the biggest game of the year. I reckon Ross has identfied our lack of run out ...

I recall Goddard and Gram playing on Gram and Lucas a couple of years ago. I think it was the game prior to Anzac game. I think Max got injured during the game which left GRam to play on Lucas. I actually thought he did a serviceable job at the time. I recall Goddard switching between Lloyd and Luca...

The sooner the AFL build their own ground that they have control over the better. The MCC would be lost without the AFL and the MCC needs the AFL as much as the AFL need the MCG. Magnificent stadium, but a disgrace that on GF day 20% of the crowd is made up of ppl who contribute NOTHING to AFL foot...

The Geelong team has so much run in it, mooney and hawkins are almost decoy forwards. st Kilda on the other hand are a far more traditional line up. Do you think? I reckon their backline of Scarlett, Harley and Taylor are no quicker or provide any more run than Blake, Dawson and Fisher. They have M...

Against the blues however, Max had a great match up in Fevola. No match up jumps out at you for him in this game. Hawkins is no superstar, and Max plays very much a blanket role, with no real attack. That's invaluable against a team who has a potential match winning fwd like Carlton, Brisbane and th...

I agree sainter dad. Roo was competing against 3 of them last year in the final. Easy to beat someone when you have two team mates with you the whole time. Kosi becaomes crucial on Sunday. If he can grab a couple early, the defenders will be trying to spoil him and it will free roo up. Taylor at thi...

Not sure if Trojan is bagging Riewoldt or not. BUT the article certainly isn't. Garry Lyon writes one of the most complimentry articles I've read on Riewoldt, and basically suggests that Rooey is set to settle a score against Taylor this weekend. Also suggests that Rooey should be rated with Ablett ...

Look in my opinion, Medallion Club seats, are not the worth the money you pay for them. However if you get the chance to sit there for free, take it. Sometimes it feels like if you reach over the handrails you can grab the footy yourself. The other thing is, and I'm not sure what sainter dad's opini...

I was sitting on the axcess 1 side of the ground (members section) and the noise, considering the type of game it was, was acceptable in my opinion by saints fans. I fully expect that if we get on a roll this week that we'll lift the roof off. Saintdooley, please don't tell me that one of the cheer...

They are great seats. I have sat in roughly the same location as you a couple of times this year Sainter dad. My 9 year old daughter wants to know why we just don't sit there every week. I only sit there when mates of mine who are medallion members lend them out. Wouldn't mind sitting there this wee...

Do you reckon the hawks are regretting that decision, particularly in light of Croad and Gilham going down for long term injuries? In fairness, most hawks fans were happy for the hawks to release him last year, as he'd shown he was a good VFL player but not much else. Amazing what confidence can do ...
