I tend to think that Mark is on the money here. It was a very touching thread that JPBFC started last week on mental illness - then last night a very out-of-character attack on our club and one poster, The Dud, in particular. These two things fit with the an idealization/denigration pattern that is ...

AT's father-in-law was not the chief exe of the ICC but rather the President of it and also a former Chairman of Cricket Australia as well as been the deputy chairman of the Bank of Melbourne at one stage. AT is close to him and I can only imagine he is giving him some wonderful advice about how bo...

J.boy is entitled to his opinion, and while not as vociferous as him, Im asking the same questions. Indeed, most people are asking these questions too. However, most don't feel the need to hysterically label the guy as an incompetent gorilla after five minutes. Well thats what he seems like to me. ...

Although it won't happen for a while, I for one would be most happy to see GT back in some capacity for St Kilda.

Also, AT is the son-in-law of the former ICC chief executive I am the son-in-law of a plumber, should I start fixing peoples pipes? A stockbroker has very different skills to someone in finance. AT is a former footballer with some outside experience in the financial world (works for a merchant bank...

Cant remember Ross Lyon ever getting a back page spread suggesting that people in the club were taking drugs and were constantly pissed at functions. You find that appropriate in the new president? Fair enoug. The potential new president wrote the article did he? Or made the current incumbent get d...

Have no problem with someone who has thought through the issues. I just think there is a cheer squad who will vote for anything that is qlitzy if it has substance or not. AFAIAC the FFS has no substance and I dont want to see a bunch with no plan wrecking the club financially. Amazing what all thin...

I think you'll find that Andrew Thompson is highly qualified in the Financial Field with tertiary qualifications. I believe he is a qualified stockbroker and has always had at least a part - time job. I remember that he worked in the financial dept of Mariner Theatres for a while !! Not having a di...

I think that is when the 3 first met???
Also Mordi Bromberg played for the Saints around that time also - late 70s, early 80s.

Spot on... Westaway opens up a Pandora's box. As I've said on another thread RB should state that his ticket stands for a complete abstinence from tax evasion, secret cash payments, wife bashing, homosexuality and terrorrism....not that his opponents should take offence just so there are no rumours...

2 + 2 = 4 Westaway is saying the things that need saying. I can't wait to see the back of RB. Even if the rumor is just that, what would the players think? Rumors like that haven't surfaced around Pies or Bummers. Why doesn't he say it then? Innuendo and mudslinging. Great start by Mr Clean  ...

I suppose having a club director on the rival ticket is a bit destablising. Not when he is part of a autocratic board. Ironic isn't it? GT exited ostensibly because he was too "autocratic" in his style....... now looks like RB may be hoisted by his own petard...... what goes around comes ...

Fully agree with you rogerwa. It's absolutely clear that the writing is on the wall. The volume of support for RB both in the media and on this forum is absolutely deafening. AFAICS everyone who has more than a cursory understanding of the situation is far from happy with the idea of a continuing RB...

Support for 3 strikes policy

Just to take your mind off some of the other football news - apparently there's some sort of board challenge going on at a Bayside AFL club? Here's comes strong support for the AFL's 3 strikes policy..... http://realfooty.com.au/news/news/experts-back-afls-three-strikes-policy/2007/09/10/1189...

How can you ask a question like this when we know nothing of the alternative tickets agenda? Because it's a poll jb, not the election itself - perhaps you don't think enough of your fellow SSites to think that we can tell the difference? I'm sure that over the next few weeks both sides will be doin...

Thanks Iceman we know what it is about because of what we do. I like to take this clown out with me for a few shifts and show him what it all about.
