Re: Pathetic crowd of only 20K

I think to call out fans for not having rocked up is a bit stiff. I’m not sure how many train lines were again sacrificed for bus replacements this weekend but that is a serious reason that would have kept many supporters away.

Re: Rozee and Bailey Smith

Guys, we're only 16 months away from bringing Ben King to St Kilda for pick 20-25. That's Max's true value: we get to recruit a family of St Kilda fans who can bookend our team for the next decade. For the price of a 1st and 2nd round pick. Spot on. That’s the goal. I’m more than content with our p...

Re: Same forward line entries

You can’t question the players’ efforts but their execution from just outside the 50 metre arc is incredibly predictable. Rarely see serious leads being made by forwards. And even more scarce are players kicking effectively to a lead. It’s all too stilted. The supply is there (look at our inside 50s...

Re: Kenty

Kent played a shocker last week and was very surprised he held his spot. Thought they would have given Robbie Young a go.

Kent seems overweight and too often fumbles at crucial moments. He has limited aerial ability and drifts in and out too often.

Kent looks podgy.

He was barely sighted all game ( 7 disposals) and then his shocking clanger in the last quarter.

Re: Keep Acres out of Centre Bounce as ruck

Does Richo view the ruck position with as much disdain as Grant Thomas used to?

Acres and Bruce are utterly wasted by being thrown into the ruck. It doesn’t even rob Peter to pay Paul.

Re: Improved?

What infuriates - and most fans are acutely aware of this - is our kick from just outside the forward line. Rarely do we find (a) a lead is made and (b) that the player upfield spots the lead and delivers a flat pass. Instead, we continue to bomb the ball to a crowded pack. Unless freakazoid Matty P...

Re: Changes vs GWS

I don’t share this DMac bashing. I think he’s a ripper. Can take a strong contested mark, is as courageous as Geary, and gets the job done. Someone referred to his disposal. Well take a look first at Luke Dunstan and Seb Ross- both who lack precision disposal by foot. Surely, Robbie Young gets his c...

Seriously, where did this come from?

What on earth is happening at Moorabbin? What has been transformed? No one in the footy world saw this coming. The signs were ominous again after a pre-season that saw the playing careers of Carlisle, Hanners, Roberton and McCartin all stalling. The backline is inexperienced, we have no premier ruck...

Spot on!

Their work rate is a key feature. Evenness across the board.

That gruelling tackling program at Portsea seems to be paying in spades.

Re: Votes v Demons

Membery was outstanding today.

Kent defied his critics and played his best game for the club.

Sinclair and Parker - also coming off quiet patches-delivered solid performances, especially their defensive roles.

Re: Nick Hind to play next week...its a must

Kent is a bit of an enigma after just 4 games. He clearly has some elite abilities but they’ve only appeared sparingly. Plus in the past two games, he’s fumbled and stumbled a few crucial times.

Re: Changes v Demons

Kent is probably on his last chance this weekend and he’s fortunate it’s against his old mob. He can be very clean with his execution however it’s been few and far between. In the past two weeks he’s drifted out of the game for extended periods and fumbled at critical moments. Geary is a certain ret...

Re: Will Kent go again because it’s his old lot?

There won’t be many changes to the side - especially a winning one. The big open spaces of the ‘G and just a 6 day break (compared to Melbourne’s 9!!) would suggest the need to inject fresh legs and speed. Hence the talk about Hind. But I reckon Geary will return and possibly Stuv to make way for Be...

St Kilda certainly has visible cracks (as one threader put it) and that’s what makes their efforts so far all the more incredible.

Re: Have to say I'm pretty happy

It’s been an extraordinary performance to Rd 4 and beyond most expectations. I thought Hawthorn looked a class above the Saints from the outset with better control and use of the footy. Yet there’s a desperation about the Saints that is infectious. To be honest, we probably lack a true A grader (Car...

Bewildered that they have retained Parker, Kent and Sinclair. They had better repay the great faith the match committee has shown in them.

Re: Hard for Longer now!

It’s hard to tell what Marshall’s ideal position is at this stage. He’s raw but mobile, hard at it & talented.

Agree that he could have been a useful forward option in that last Q when we were bombing it 20 metres from goal and we couldn’t pluck that pack mark.

Re: Matt Parker!!!!!

Brought to the club partly for his forward pressure, his tackles didn’t stick today. He seemed more focused on flair and x-factor (like his unsuccessful spekky attempt) rather than the gritty work.
