Re: NAB Cup Rd 1 Official match thread

Ledger, Saad, Sippos were the shining lights for me. Ledger has great ball winning ability and great in clearences (dare I say, probably better than Armo but there is room for them both). Saad's pressure is great. He's so quick off the mark. Caused a few turnovers and looks dangerous. Sippos looked ...

I feel better now going into season 2012 than the same time last year going into 2011. But no where near like the excitement going into season 2010. I think that we are going for the flag. Lenny, Roo and Goddard may be once in a lifetime players. We have a great opportunity to use these players for ...

How's Dave's take on the preseason he's had? And that of the team?

Any idea what role/possie he'll play? A true midfielder now?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOveXq3WHI0 Some of his tap work looked good. Can we stretch him? I hope he grows, if not maybe a pinch hitter like Brennan use to be for the Lions as has long arms and a good jump. What impressed me the most though was his timing (granted it is only a highlights clip...

maybe our strategy will go from defence being the best form of attack to attack being the best form of defence. Our recruitment of skillful and speedy hff and wingman will go a long way to do this. Always keeping the opposition guessing, on the back foot and reactive. It will also be more exciting t...

From Rayman on BF – Darren Minchington – Dandenong Stingrays (181cm/76kg/1993) Speculative selection for the Swans. Has plenty of ‘X – Factor’ explosive pace with good skills and knows where the goals are! Just found his way onto the Stingrays list without completing a TAC preseason due to...

Over 100m, yes.
Saad has it over distances that you are likely to run on a football field (during a game and not at half time).

I think that's pretty good. Obviously Lenny and Gwilt sliding a little due to coming back from injury.

I would have McEvoy much higher for next year. Maybe ahead of Dempster? Definitely above Gilbert.

I'd like to see Steven push higher next year also.

rumour has it (various sources on the internet - believe what you will) that Collingwood have shown big interest in Horsley. Lots of forum talk and Phantom draft selections.

He sounds like a handy player although I'd probably select one of Magner or Horsley as they seem a little similar??

I believe that one of his best mates is David Armitage. Source: Gavin's dad. However I don't think he would make it into our best 22.
