He didn't poll in the top 10 for the B&F for Dogs. I think he's good is very good, he just requires consistency.Beno88 wrote:Koby Stevens only finished behind five St Kilda players in this year's Brownlow. Same amount of votes as Armo. He's no hack. Re: For StK to become better
What stuck in my mind reading the OP was D-Mac and I can see others have also brought it up. Whilst I see that Acres will make the next step to A grade hopefully along with Billings and Paddy (Paddy has the tools, just needs to get on the park), D-Mac can really jump ahead. He has great attributes a...

Re: Dustin Martin
I've watched a lot of Dusty this year and he's incredible. Second to Dangerfield. He has the strength and ability to break tackles, get his hands free and keep the ball moving. He did very well in a rubbish team. I don't care that he has a s*** haircut and tattoos. Or has connections to the underwor...

Re: Jaxons come on down
Hi Jax, thanks for your tidbits! It gives us something to discuss and mull over and a bit of excitement at this team of year. As you can see, I think almost everyone has been quite excepting of the fluid nature of this time of year and have not resorted to directing any frustration solely at yoursel...

Re: Too much running?
I believe last year there was some uncertainty on Members position and role. We were seeking to use him as a big bodied pinch hitting midfielder. Similar to Hamill at times for very brief periods or I suppose how DMartin was in the earlier part of his career. DMartin now evolved into more mid/fwd th...

Minch has been serviceable this year. Great for I50 pressure acts. I'd be surprised if culled. Possibly trade bait howeverrobbie muir wrote:Lee , Curren , Shenton , Murdoch and Minchington

Re: Delistings
Any insight into why? Why not any longer to develop?
I don't mind all that much. If recruitment/development don't foresee that he can make it then I'm happy that the call is made earlier rather than persisting with no outcome e.g. Curren, Saunders

Re: Disposal Efficiency
So why are we only 9th? 15th for clearances, 17th for one-percenters, 18th for stoppages, equal 18th for frees against. Equal second for marks inside 50, but 7th for goal accuracy. Interesting that despite our reputation as a high pressure team, we were also 15th for tackles. According to http://ww...

Any love for Cam Ellis-Yoleman?
Fringe at Crows due to their strong mid-field but excelling in the SANFL this year.
Serviceable so far v Eagles tonight

Re: trade targets next two years
I'm unsure on Lennon. Despite injuries, has shown glimpses but hasn't come on. Who is our 2nd tal kpd? Goddard? given he'll miss half a season and is probably a couple of pre-seasons away from getting bulk, he's our 3rd tall kpd imo. Marchbank 2nd kpd? Talk about Carlton interest in Tomlinson, perha...

That is true and as such, I'm err-ing in the no camp unless the price is right given the risk.bigcarl wrote:

Yet lack a crucial 2nd tall. Goddard if/when he comes on maybe better suited to take the role of 3rd tall eventually replacing Gilbert? Possibly a Marchbank/Tomilinson/similar wouldn't hurtCon Gorozidis wrote:White, Webster, Dmac. Carlisle, Roberton, Goddard.

Re: Is Jaeger Worth the Trouble?
IPerhaps we could trade Freeman for him, he was a No 10 pick. Fair comparison IMO. Loads of potential but can't get on the park. They'd want Acres or Gresham or Membrey or one of our other developing players. No thanks and certainly not on those terms. Little comparison. JOM is proven at AFL level ...

Re: Rucking issues
Saints pre 1997 GF was a rucking issue, if our ruckman were injured or past their prime then rucking issue, if going for a flag this year then an issue. It must be considered in context of where we finished last year. Having 4 developing ruckman is a non-issue for a developing team. I think it's exc...

Re: Rucking issues
Agreed and all of which will play out over time. To call it now as an issue is far too early relative to how we as a whole are positioned. If they were all terrible with no signs, then sure... but they're all developing. A key feature of development is time, particularly for rucks.[/quote] Of course...

There are some great reviews on the team board at bigfooty. One in particular from someone at the game Interesting that the wind was much stronger in qtr 4 and favoured the Lions. Considering we ran all over them, it is exactly what I wanted to hear. Watching the feed i was happy we ran out the gam...

Rucking non-issue for mine. If we were going for a flag this year, or top 4 or top 8, then I might be slightly concerned. We have 4 developing ruckman. They all have potential and anywhere from 2 - 6 years before they're at an age considered to be at their peak. Like others have said, it will work ...
