Re: Dougal Howard - I'm Not Convinced Yet.
A puzzling post... Howard is young and settling in the side and has just taken the scalp of Dixon... He is tall athletic aggressive combative and hates to lose.... he reminds me a little bit of Max Hudghton... We should be doing back flips that we stole this player off Port that just doesn’t happen ...

St Kilda club banner Stood out: Hunter Clark The smooth-moving midfielder took another big stride on Saturday night as St Kilda conquered Adelaide Oval for the second time in a week. Clark made time stand still on occasions during his season-high 24-disposal performance in the win over ladder leader...

Knowledge of how AFL contracts work
I’m asking some knowledgeable people here can anyone advise how AFL contracts work? For example with Hannabery : Is he collecting his full payments last 2 seasons as he has hardly played? Is it base plus match payments? Say he doesn’t play again with 2 years +1 what’s the pay out? He could be a majo...

Re: The new look backline (they can all kick)
The difference in the backline to the last three seasons is chalk and cheese. The beauty is they are now all very good by foot, Clark, Coffield, Paton, Carslile, Howard, Battle, Wilkie & Long. You are more than comfortable when the ball is in their hands that a good decision will be made and a ...

Re: Sinclair and Parker
Sinclair is leaner and fitter you can see he is in the peak fitness of his life. He played well he is a valuable player in this list and no one gets easy games anymore so he will be playing out of his skin to keep his career alive. He did well. Parker was rusty he didn’t look great but he brings phy...

Re: Seb Ross
The defense of Ross is embarrassing he is supposed to be one of our main A list midfielders. How many times did he get his hand on the ball? How many times did he drive the ball forward? A good midfielder gets the contested ball or wins a clearance and drives it forward time and time again. He gets ...

Re: Howard the steal of the trade period
All 5 have been fantastic great work and even last year Max King and Callum Wilkie not mentioning Jack Bytel and Ryan Byrnes who have made some noise as big potentials. Go back to Hunter Clark and Nick Coffield we have down some decent work last few years makes up for the disaster of Mc Cartin and H...

Re: Is it our midfield?
The club knows the midfield still isn’t good enough. We have targeted a free agent for next year. Agree with all your statements I think Jones is a good addition he gives us a bit of ” Jack Stevens” grunt and pace.

Dunstan was tagged as the next Captain he has been dropped how many times last 4 years? I lost count.... Acres was traded not because we wanted to lose him but because we had to give something up and Freo wanted him...Newnes- got offered 2 years took a better deal Hickey- My friends call him the ski...

Elshaug major blunder. I know for a fact a week going into the draft we had decided Petracca. Pelchen was moved on just before the draft & when he heard on the radio we picked Mc Cartin he rang Elshaug in bewilderment. Elshaug explains to Pelchen that Petracca didnt interview too well he was up ...

Re: Ross to be traded I’m calling it!!
Saynta just read your posts about Dunstan in 2016 when I identified him as a player that I questioned his ability to be a long term solution for the club back in 2016 you were backing jaxon in the pro Dunstan camp back then now you claim my post about Seb Ross is rubbish... Hope you are right this t...

Re: Luke Dunstan to be traded?
I wrote this piece in 2016 about Dunstan and in 2020 he wasn’t picked by Ratten and the new football staff...a different coach and regime and they deemed him not up to first 22 status and now he is injured.... Some on here called him a future captain of the club.... I had a read I found interesting ...

At 18, he was monstering more mature opponents and was our first special player since Balldock. He was 17! It didn't take the opposition long to put two on him... and it didn't take Plugger long to beat both of them. I watched all of this video tonight instead of the match on tonight, so much bette...

David Grant “ played tall” is the footy expression he marked better than his height normally allows great hands and leap he was an excellent footballer. He took that HB position for years and was solid and reliable and at times brilliant and exciting. His best season was 1991 when he made All Austra...

Re: Two Saints legends
Dawson got thrown to the wolves at Hawthorn and that clearly could have shot his confidence for good. Well done by Danny Frawley at identifying that Zac had something to offer at AFL level and to Ross for resurrecting Zacs footy career. We got 60 odd very serviceable games from a rookie and he had ...

Its 20 year old athletes competing against 20 year year athletes we lost by a goal its a game of margins. 250 km (2 and a half hour) round trip against a 20 min trip work out if they had 5% of travel lag or tiredness. At that elite level everything is a factor it was far from ideal I wouldn't know o...
