what happens if we start winning too fast?
highly improbable i know but just for a hypothetical let's say we come out and win our first 5 games and get into a rampage and finish 5th on the ladder. Does this throw a spanner into works with regard to the "road to 2018 / Premiership by 2020" the club has now put all its planning into?...

This years "unders" is pick 18 for Luke Dunstan, no doubt about it.

Re: NAB Round 1: reflections
- I hope we can find someone to push Maister out of the side, nothing against the guy, I just hope he's not the 2nd best forward on our list. TOM LEE. Surely this bloke will develop onto a better lead-up/marking forward than Meister. We used draft pick no. 6 on him don't forget! 3rd tall forward sp...

NAB Round 1: reflections
*Clearly, we are bottom 4 material, mere chickenfeed for the teams that will be competing for this years flag, but there's enough there to suggest that, in a realistic time span of about 5-6 years, we will have a very exciting team indeed. *Make no mistake: This year could well be worse than last ye...

Re: The game plan - numbers numbers numbers
Bit hard to tell what Richo's game plan is like after just one prakky much but one thing is clear:
Richo likes to play the pagans paddock. Scored at least two like that and a few more chances too.

Re: Top 5 Most Dangerous Saints
I never saw Rob Muir play, but my old man says he was his favourite player back in the day, and he told me a story of a day at moorabbin that I'll relate to you that definitely corroborates the "white-line-fever" tag that has been attached to him... I can't remember who we were playing, bu...

Adam Schneider burns BJ = Classic
Adam Schneider just went up about 3 notches in my estimations. There's a crappy 5 minute clip on the saints website of scheids and t.lee walking around the boulder uni campus talking to students and trying to pick up chics. But at the end, schneids bumps into BJ who is there with essendon, who are a...

I was born in '82, and plugger is undoubtedly the best Ive seen, but judging on the consensus from this forum of everyone who is old enough to have seen the doc, he was, as unbelievably brilliant as lockett was, just that little bit better than even lockett. Man, I wish I could have seen him live!!!

Re: The Great Nicky Winmar....Winmarverllous
Great, thanks for that! Just on a side note, as we all know, Winmar passed the no.7 guernsey onto Lenny Hayes. Thats 27 straight years from Winmar's debut in 1987 that have gone by, 27 seasons, all passed with just 2 players, Winmar & Hayes, being the custodians of the St.Kilda number 7 througho...

Re: Nostragrumpus predicts.
I think we are a chance for the wooden spoon next year and bottom 4 the following...I also think that we could struggle the year after that and AR will be gone early and then Alastair Clarkson will be coach and we will be top 4 the following year. Ok so what are your lotto numbers for next week? 35...

Only problem is GC and GWS will be in a strong position as well. In Pelchin, Summers and the incoming CEO I trust I'm counting on the fact that our new team is being built upon an already strong core with a successful foundation, while GC and GWS are being built from scratch, to give us the competi...

Re: Good kids on our list now are...
I don't think there can be any doubt, reading the OP, that we have a strong crop of kids with the potential to become elite. Anyone who feels the need to sink the boots in to this list of kids with glee is not a st.kilda supporter. Yes, GWS and Gold Coast have a strong crop of kids, too, but one thi...

Re: This is year 1
Is it really year 1? The thing is when Reiwoldt retires in a couple of years will that be year one or I suppose if we hopefully have players ready to step up and replace the great man, I guess this could be regarded as year one? Dunno I'm just rambling and thinking out aloud! Of course its a subjec...

This is year 1
IMHO, it is only now that we can truly say that the pain infecting the team from the pain of the GF losses has been overcome (but not forgotten), that the past has been put in its place and the future has now arrived. In a collective, mixed-metaphorical sense, the team has just picked itself off the...

Re: Moneyball
Thinking back to GF1 in 2010, I remember, as I sat in the forward pocket on the bottom level of the MCG, watching Goddard, rise, rise, rise, mark, kick a goal and put us in front in the dying minutes of the game. My father and I shared a look, like "this is it." But still, something inside...
