"What are we doing" :!: :!: Over the years, the Saints have made many "knee jerk" coaching changes - none to any significant effectiveness (except perhaps, Alves & Thomas). Lyon is an astute coach and seems to be a good communicator, judging from what I have seen and read. In...

Don't Panic - Carlton, Hawthorn, Melbourne, Fremantle, Collingwood, Western Bulldogs, Geelong :!: Panic - after the bye if we lose more than we win. It's then a re-assessment time for next year. The coach and team have given us a great run. They need some support in trying to turn things arou...

No doubt Zac has slipped back, but so have most of our backline. I think that is a combination of the ball coming down more often and much more quickly. Like many others, he needs to improve, but is far from being thrown out, unless there is someone at Sandy who can take his place (Lynch?). What ama...

Stars (mature ones) have the ability to "re-load."

Good to see lots of support for Joey. :!:

11 kicks and 6 handballs under a heavy tag, was not the worst performance of the night by a long shot. Let's not crucify our better players for the odd "less than perfect" game.

We have a new media manager (no doubt a result of the debacle of putting Roo in front of the media over the "St Kilda photo affair"). She is a high profile former PM Gillard media person and is very good, I am told.

It will be interesting to watch for positive changes in our media approach.

Looks like there's a fair degree of truth in that statement. :!:

Not covering Crows on the 50mtr arc cost us the match in the last quarter. Clearly would have been against team structure. Deplorable lack of concentration by Saints players. Didn't happen in SOS's time. :!:

Worthwhile to give Roo some time on the ball, to do his own thing. It will give him some confidence, the team some drive and stop him from getting cold, waitng for the ball to come down to the forward line :!:

McEvoy's deplorable performance at centre bounces is consistently giving opposition first forward entry, then they hold it in :!: The worry for me is, that he is being consistently beaten by new AFL players. Apart from the 3rd quarter, we lost just about every stoppage/clearance. Is this lack of con...

Ross has done a great job since he has been at the Saints - the team performance proves it. He is the best coach we have had for a long, long time, and we have had many coaching "failures". He is clearly a good tactician, but perhaps a little conservative and needs to re-adjust. Having bee...

To win, we need Will to make a contribution, not simply be on the ground. A couple of goals would be nice - at least 1. Present regularly as a viable leading option, making space for Roo. Impose some presence with his big frame. Make some tackles - at least 4. Win the game and we will all be happy :...

Followed up with Georgie Day from the Saints Museum today about this. It's still on e-bay. As others have suggested, it's likely to be a "memento," not a VFL Medallion. She checked with The Cowboy, who doesn't have one. Georgie says that they have an enormous amount of "memorabilia&qu...

You're right Saint_Ash. That's what happens when I try to watch two sreens at once - stupidity. On a heavy ground, I have to agree with Dr Spaceman, that based on last week, Minni gets another gig. That leaves me with Clarke in for Stanley (Gwilt forward). Jones did a good covering job last week and...

I take your point matrix. It is a risk, but perhaps we need to roll-the-dice, so to speak, as I don't like our forward chances on a heavy ground, unless Milney & Schneider can be relied on to get the job done. We need to win this one. The problem then is, if we "leak" badly as you inti...

Out - Stanley - poor match form, possible leg strain.
- Winmar - been a sub for a couple of weeks. Needs match time
at Sandy.

In - Johnson - time for a try up forward.
- Peake ? - experience & pace.
