Re: Saints in Milne legal funds row
Surely we have a PR department that should vet things like this? Not prepared to accept the excuse that players did it off their own bat without consulting the club. Serious questions need to be asked of our "leadership group", surely one amongst them would have questioned the PR implicat...

Re: Saints in Milne legal funds row
fair comment from saintbeth (IMHO) I'm not sure just how I would react if I was approached to help fund the Milne legal defence. Even allowing for the presumption of innocence, I'd be reluctant to contribute. This has nothing to do with the Footy club, really it hasn't, although there are many who ...

Re: Saints in Milne legal funds row
5% of the top paid players' salaries should more than cover the legal bill. Where do they get this sense of entitlement? And the rest, what do you think a lawyer such as Philip Dunn QC costs. After the completion of this trial Milne will have paid at least 200% of his annual salary as a player. 5% ...

Re: Campbell Brown - Gold Coast, Glass Jaw
I'm just waiting to see if Caro goes ballistic on this one, including culture, lack of leadership etc etc. Let see if Caro judges a serious assault resulting in a broken jaw as more serious than a practical joke on a dwarf? Brown may serve time for this if charged.

There's an idea.sax wrote:I wouldn't be surprised if Adam Kingsley moved to the midfield role & Aaron Hamill was given the forward role. I think Danny Sexton will stay as defensive coach.
As for the academy, what about Stan Alves?

Re: Milney updates
Could you imagine the embarrassment to the OPI & Vic Pol if the matter was thrown out at Committal? When the complainant (under oath) said Milney did this and that, it unfortunately, ensured that it would go to trial, as the defence would hold its fire on cross examination for the trial (it woul...

Re: Milney updates
there is an update in Sun today about the events leading up to that night and what happened on the night.. I am a Milne fan obviously but I'm also a 23 year old female so can relate to her as well. I honestly believe it was a misunderstanding but I'm confused as well. If she thought it was joey why...

Re: Do you think 09/10 should be celebrated?
I feel Watters probably told a few bigger name players that they were overrated, and wouldn't be part if his plans. No doubt in my mind that just like the Saints of old, too many at the club didn't want to hear the truth and of course the tail wags the dog at St K, so Watters got the flick. No doub...

If it played a role in Lenny's decision to go around again, then I'm all for it. Still think harves retired a year early - could have managed him through the season and had him firing fit and keen for the final. would've been nice to see him break 400 games as well. ...and I think we would have gra...

That was set up by Butters, for instance he hired Lyon.Johnny Member wrote:Lets not forget though, that on his watch we very, very nearly won two flags.

It should serve as a reminder of what it takes to get to a GF and get a Premiership opportunity.

Re: The Get Mark Williams Thread
Wake up naysayers, Choco is the man for the job. He came to Collingwood because he (as a South Australian) wanted to captain a Victorian club to a Premiership, which he never achieved. I'm sure he'd salivate at the chance to coach a Victorian club to a Premiership, particularly a club's first Premie...

Re: Poll - who do you think should coach next year?
Why all the love for Williams? He was an arrogant pr1ck at Port. What has he done since? Anyway Pelchen obviously now runs the club. I assume he has already hand picked the next coach. Premiership Coaches in their second gig tend to be exceptional. This has occurred on numerous occasions, see Allan...

Although it now appears Watters dismissal was quite justified, I do feel for him and wish him luck in the future. However, I'm happy to say good riddance to the bumbling Nettlefold. Thank god he's gone.

I remember at the time thinking it was a bizarre selection, Saad simply had not earned a place in the team on merit at the time, aside from the ASADA matter.

Re: Scott Watters sacked: Official SS reaction thread
Well, well, well after the condemnation of Mark Fine for disloyalty, we now have posters spitting the dummy and saying they are going to tear up their membership. Nice! By the way the new coach has got to be Mark Williams and I'd be delighted with that.
