Re: Team v Giants - no change.
Most of our better play has been in our forward half so if players like Dunstan, Newnes, Schneider, Weller, Sinclair, Lonie and of course Longer can match or exceed the output oj Steven, Armo and Joey, against elite opposition we'll be fine.

Is that the closest we'll get to a mea culpa, BM?
Harves Man, Gringo and Armoo; cheers, you guys.
Hopefully saynta reported me, not Harves Man by mistake!
Talk about having a bad day...

Re: Bruce...... the topic of headlines
His family actually moved to Melbourne to be near him. True. And actually, thinking back to that article, he said something about being a nomad that isn't really concerned about the geographic location of his footy club, which all goes to show how illogical my fear was. It was more based on Sydney'...

Love the Bruuuuuuuuce chant too! It's the most excited I've been about a number 27 since George Young! Some guys near the cheers squad started an alternative Hey Bruce chant that got dirty looks from the official squad. Typical. You'd think they'd see the bigger picture. Hopefully they try to out-c...

OK, I'm wrong about Queanbeyan. As a reward, I will let it go this time, more to quell sniping on this forum. Anyway, so as not offend the separatists: I hope that Sydney don't eventually try to lure him back out of footy-mad Victoria and considerably closer to his hometown in a few years. It was mo...

Troll needs to appreciate irony. Fancy that , Mr Pompous calling me a troll for informing him that Canberra isn't in NSW. In fact his comment is quite offensive but Mr no nothing wouldn't evn be aware of that. I prefer the title Dr No (Nothing is my wife's surname which I don't use for business) No...

Re: How high can we get this year...
So you're saying that if we'd played Hawthorn and Collingwood twice instead of Bulldogs and Essendon we'd be in the same position with the same momentum? I bow to your knowledge.

NSW, ACT, whatever. Do you just post for the sake of it. If so you should give it a rest for awhile as a lot of your posts reveal you haven't a clue. About geography, footy or history. How many games did he play for the Swans ? 14.It doesn't mean that he comes from NSW though, he is a Canberra boy,...

Re: Bruce...... the topic of headlines
Glad to see The Age is following our progress so closely this year. St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt has long been a club favourite, but this year's early merchandise sales suggested he had been edged out by key defender Josh Bruce, who has played just 22 games for the Saints. http://www.theage.com.a...

Re: How high can we get this year...
It's true we have had a lot more wins than many expected. I think the relative success this season is partly due to the new draw policy of making all teams play teams around the same part of the ladder twice. So while we are playing all the rubbish teams twice, Port Adelaide is playing all the stron...

Re: Selection last week , older players
I was firmly in the anti-Schneider camp up until maybe the Bulldogs win, but Adam has made me eat my words. He has been the Sergeant we need out on the field, of all the vets, he and Roo are the most vocal ones, and any time you see Schneider he's directing traffic or talking. As has been publicised...

Re: How high can we get this year...
I reckon we've got at least another 3 wins. Momentum is strong, yet to play some out of form teams (port, north, melb again), could still run a few of the stronger teams close, fitness is great globally, getting better and better at seeing out games. I've got a feeling that our game against Geelong ...

Nope, we're not desperate for top ups like we were when we took Lovett. No risky short cuts.

If Markworth never makes it, he's still probably got a very promising career ahead of him in medicine, so don't feel too sorry for him. He's given it his best shot.

Re: Daniel Markworth
I reckon we are in a pretty decent spot with our list. We've got enough talent at both ends of the experience spectrum, a couple of handy midrange players and a small fleet of unknowns: Markworth, Murdoch, Pierce, White, Saunders, Wright, Lee, Sippos, Minchington, Curren, Simpkin. In order of potent...

Re: Pathetic opposition
I just watched the 1st Q again, and I think it was a case of us being good rather than them being bad. First to the ball, strong marking, seniors leading and directing, pinpoint passing most of the time, sustained pressure after turnovers, Richo must have loved that. I think GWS are gonna have to br...

Re: Pathetic opposition
Give the players some credit ffs. Watch the first half. We smashed them and barely gave them a clean possession. In the stoppages we absolutely destroyed them inside and then lumps like Jab and BJ could not cover the outside speed. Our handball work in particular was lightning. We flogged them. Hit...

Re: Pathetic opposition
For the coaching staff, I'd imagine it will be the first quarter and the the first 5 mins of each of the following quarters that they'll look at, the rest is like a cheeky little chocolate bar after your meal. Great that the players didn't treat it like that though. Smack in all the time, every time...

Re: St Kilda the next Port Adelaide?
I was just thinking the same thing as the OP and I think it's definitely worth being vigilant against. They were flying in 13 and 14, good mix of young stars, underrated team players keeping the engine purring and experienced vets, a coach who has done the full apprenticeship. Richo leaves, Phil Wal...

Fitting tribute for the anniversary of the 1965 flag perhaps. Rather have win the GF against them, but beggars can't be chosers.
