Re: Rumour Thread
I wouldn't want to lose Milera, i think he is going to be a very good player for us with a bit of "x" factor that we need.

Re: amen brother
I would have been very upset if we paid Goddard what the Bombers are paying based on his last season and a half, he might come good and get back to 2009 form at a new club but I was very dissapointed in hisperformance this season. He seems to play the loose half back very well and a lot of other pos...

Re: The Latest on Goddard.. Fri 21/9 !!
St Kilda is not going to put their best offer on the table now, same as Collingwood and Cloke, both Clubs have the option of matching the offer on the table from another club or even making a counter offer closer to the mark which the player can accept if he really wants to stay at the his club. The...

Saints Conditioning in Watters first year
I remember lsitening to Malthouse a few years ago talking about Luke Ball and his first year at Collingwood, he said the fittness staff were really suprised that Luke'sconditioning even though he was very fit didn't allow him to run to contest after contest and play a running game and he was conditi...

Re: This can be a positive..
I hope we can scrap into the finals. I think our stars are actually hitting form, Goddard has been so much better the last few weeks, Fisher has also looked good, I really liked his game against the Magpies, Roo and Monty have been in form for a while, Lenny all season. We could really do well in th...

Re: Saints v/s Pies Match day thread
I am really upset, they got an armchair ride in the last quarter, we need to improve our decision making so the umpires don’t count as much, Milney was to undisciplined, Geary kicking in to the middle and turning it over and Steven handballing to Lenny, all very poor. An honourable loss means nothin...

Re: Serious changes needed
Very disappointing that Farren Ray got dropped, he has played well since he came back in and his effort has been first class. The two big issues were getting smashed in the centre and no marking targets in the forward 50, Roo looks injured and Kosi just isn’t very good at the moment, even when they ...

Re: Reality Check
I agree, its the worst game since round 1, we need to get some enthusiastic kids in the team. Since Gwilt, Gram and Raph have come back into the team we have struggled for run and carry out of the backline. Simpkin is a good developing player, they should keep trying Cripps running off half back and...

Filling Ruck Void
Unfortunately Mcevoy is out for 4-6 weeks, on the weekend Blake, Kosi and Stanley did ok. I think we should have Wilkes in the team he enables us to keep our 3 tall forward structure, we are lucky we have players that can play multiple positions. Kosi - Ruck/FWD, Stanley - Ruck/FWD, Blake Ruck/Def &...

Steven is ok, yes he turns the ball over too much but he wins his own ball and can break away from a pack. He will get better and better and his strengths will out way his weakness's by a long way.

Re: Montagna
I still think Montagna is a very good player, we need a creative player with good skills running off half back like Collingwood, Hawthorn and Carlton have, i would love to see Monty fill that role. Maybe that will allow Goddard to run through the midfield and forward a bit more.

Re: Jones /Polo/Blake/Armo/Ray/Peake
I actually like Peake in the team, he makes mistakes but he also creates opportunities with his run and speed, some of the others make as many mistakes but never do anything special.

Re: Jones /Polo/Blake/Armo/Ray/Peake
We need to get some zip and enthusiasm into the team, I would like to see Schneider, Saad, Ledger, Cripps, Ross along with Milera playing together more. Armo, Ray, Jones, Dempster and Blake really looked bad at times.

Re: It’s going to be a long year for the Saints !
Great post, I agree with all your thoughts. I thought we relied on Port making mistakes instead of us winning the ball and creating something. I hope Watters is strong enough to make positive changes, drop senior players that need to be dropped and start developing the kids. Collingwood played 4 new...

Re: Game Thread vs Port Adelaide
What a crap performance, how can we win when we can’t hit 2 targets in a row? Gilbert, Steven, Dempster, Geary, Blake, and Jones they just can’t kick. No intensity, no daring, no one took the game on. Unless we play some kids and develop them like the Cats and Hawks have we will not only have a shoc...

I thought he was ok as well, I was saying to a guy at work yesterday that I wasnt sure if Stanley would make the grade. He showed some good signs. He would be very hard to stop as a lead up player with his height and speed.

I think the lowest we will finish is 6th, we had a shocking year this year, everything went wrong and we still finished 6th at the end of the home and away season. With a few things going right, Roo and Goddard injury free, Lenny and Gwilt back, improvement from the kids and hopefully re vamping the...

People seems to be saying Scott Watters is ahead of every other applicant at the moment and Mick Malthouse will join as Football Director or in a mentor role??? Any one have any news on this??

The cats are fantastic, drafting is the difference between them and us. In 2001 we got Ball #2, X Clarke # 5, Dal #13, Matt Maguire # 21, they got Bartel#8, Kelly#17 and S Johnson#24. I recall the Saints were deciding between Johnson and Maguire. I know injuries have effected our picks but this was ...

Rodney Eade is a very good coach, I think we should be talking to him and wouldn't be fased if we chose him. He did a great job with the Dogs, they have done nearly as well as the Saints over the last 4 years, Eade took over the dogs the same year Wallace and Clarkson took over the Tigers and Hawks ...

Go Saints, show the doomsdayers we can bounce back.
Yes Ross left because of the money, once again I have no issue with him leaving its just the way he did it. If Freo didnt have the balls to sack Mark Harvey Ross Lyon would have done all this dealing behind our backs and then signed with the Saints for another 4 years. I'm glad he is gone and im rea...
