Re: #27 George Young on SEN
It's not hard to guess from my name who my favourite player was. The '76 to '78 era is still one of my fondest memories of the Saints and this topic is a big deal for me. To put it it perspective A gave the eulogy at my father's funeral 2 years ago & finish with the Saint's song & placing th...

Re: Hickey forward
I really appreciate the quality of the comments on this particular Op. Makes a change from some threads :) I agree with P66 it terms of the viability of playing 2 rucks (if one is not a quality KPP e.g Roughie) as not the direction the running game is heading. Playing 2 rucks will be difficult for u...

Re: The next Milney?
Hopefully Lonie is the next Lonie (his own man) and we're saying that the kid we've drafted in 2029 is promising and hopefully will be half as good as Lonie ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Angry nick
Just shows how much of a fine-line there is in controlling anger in the heat of the moment. After Nick tried to tackle the Irishman into the goals (and gave away a free for high contact) he took one step towards the 'referee' with 'intent'. In the first 0.1 sec he wanted to push him over (a front pa...

Re: Trout's war room- article
Probably 99% of teenagers would not be dedicated enough to make an AFL list. Wouldn't be an issue for a gun prospect but for border-line selections the recruiters would be looking for any reason to choose between the 200 or so in the 50+ or rookie range. They may see it as an indicator that they may...

Re: St.Kilda Characters since 1970
I agree with a lot of the suggestions. Out: N, Reiwoldt (insufficient controversy), R. Clarke (inj), T Walsh (delisted), J Sarau, Con Gorozidis, A Davis (dropped) In: R. Hunt, J. O’Dea, B. Wilson, R. Owen, L. Vidovic, G Burns, G Sidebottom B. Stevie Baker, Cowboy Neale, Lazar. Vidovic HB. Jimmy O’De...

Re: St.Kilda Characters since 1970
I was tossing up b/w Raph (highly debated player) & Jack Daniel's (kicking) on the H.B flank.
Still can't pick the rovers postion. Maybe Paul Callery, thou Dupa was a favourite in 1978. Neither were controversial.
The bench is very very slow![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

St.Kilda Characters since 1970
I was bored today and started thinking about a team of past players that have been a bit different, cult heroes, villains or players who have generally entertained us over the years. No doubt I've got this massively wrong, but I had to start somewhere.... B. Stevie Baker, Cowboy Neale, Jeff Sarau HB...

Re: Madden Medal 2014 - Congratulations Lenny-
Congrats, this is a massive honour which Lenny will really appreciate. Len dog must have the smallest ego of any successful sportman to have every played! :D I still smile at the comment he made to an assistant coach 'I don't want to say much to the media as people might think that I have a big head'.

Re: How will the Suns respond?
Back on topic, just for a second :) What has been our best 1 or 2 efforts this year away from home (not necessarily a win). Whether or not it's the Lyon factor, we have done well against Freo & our most likely wins are normally 'inside' with or without the roof. Regardless of whether we notch up...

Re: Herald Sun
As mentioned, the problem with the rating is the time frame & most footy followers (other clubs) are only interested in the next year. IMHO, we would rate: C for 2014 as there is a strong probability that we'll miss the experience. A for 2016 as there is potential for our trades to result in imp...

Re: Saints, this is the future (news article)
I've been following SS weekly since around 2006 but haven't got involved in the argy bargy of posting. I just wanted to say that I think everyone's contribution & response to this article are some of the most intelligent & logical football discussions that I've seen in the last couple of yea...

Re: 2012 Player Ratings
You've put a lot of effort into this school report card which is appreciated. I agree with most, with the exceptions of: Fish: 7 (still solid but down from his normal 9) Jones: 5 (not as many successful shut downs) Terry: 4.5 (which is still a good effort) Dunnell: 4 (with up side to push to 6 next ...
