Re: Robbo's likes and dislikes

Seb's weakness is he will never turn onto his right foot - watch closely, when the opportunity to break down the right with a quick kick appears he always looks left first, hesitates and ends up kicking sideways or backwards. When your team runs hard to open up space and you end up missing the oppor...

too many left footers- one sided at that

we are too easy to defend when the pressures on - from the back- Brown, McKenzie, Webster, Wilkie, Dunstan, Ross, Billings, Bruce, Lonie, Kent, - all very one sided, but of the lot so many have no penetration on their kick, and perhaps with Wilkie, Webster and Billings as the exception their kicks t...

Re: Newnes

He was very good the first 5 games this year but has dropped off a bit since then. Still averaging 22 touches a game and 6th in our disposals for the year. Still in our best 18 at the moment. And this is a good thing? What attributes does Newnes demonstrate, he is not quick, not a great mark, canno...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Magpies Round 9 2019

some senior players - well senior at any rate, were abysmal - Newnes should never play in the ones again, Ross - for those who remember Clint Jones, is never destined to be even B grade, and unless he can learn to turn both ways is easy to defend. We have too many one sided players - most of them le...

Re: Changes v Pies

1. I would play Longer- get him into Grundy at every opportunity and particularly at the centre bounce. Marshall for around the ground or maybe as per below use him as the third tall. 2. Drop Long and bring in Marsh - the pies have two big central defenders, we need an extra marking target to worry ...

Re: Poor Paddy: Season Over (career, too?)

there was a time when concussion didn't seem to matter. remember the old boxing term "glass jaw", well some seem to have a greater effect from blows to the head than others. Young Brayshaw seems to have managed his issues. Paddy may figure out how to do the same. The kid deserves some luck...

Re: Jono Marsh playing this week

his draft highlight real looks impressive- size, quickness and a great fend off! Kicking action also looks solid. He may have lost a little zip as he has put on muscle in the few years that have passed, still could be exciting! This is obviously the year to sort out who will be in our flag winning 2...

Note the vote for Steele- at least coaches see how good this guy is! (I suspect it was from the Melbourne coach)

Re: Longer - 1 paltry disposal

Have to say I agree with Saynta- appeals to authority both to bolster an opinion or to refute by denigration are an unworthy distraction. An opinion may be based of fact/experience and analysis or wishful thinking. Regardless, ask for reasons, analogies -whatever, but the identity of the poster is e...

Re: McCartin

I reckon he is done. I also reckon one or more people at the club know he is done - but they are trying to delay the process of officially making an announcement because of the potential to bring the group down . The club is on a high at the moment - and lets be honest its a very fragile confidence...

surely you jest - both the choice of syntax and the agrammatical presentation, presumably deliberate, did make the post hard to fathom. Re: Roberton’s electric heart

I presume it is an ICD ( the size of a small wallet - do people still carry wallets nowadays?) - implantable cardiac defibrillator. Monitors the heart rhythm - responds to dangerous arrhythmias with a shock. Gutsy for Robbo to still want to play, most people who need this sort of device are advised ...
