Emma Quayle's latest http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/2014-afl-draft-a-level-playing-field-for-recruiters-20141115-11nfn5.html Take 2 :D :D According to this ---- Things are changing - looks like Cackatoo is now out of our scope - but Goddard - who people where well up for is now in our range....

Re: Tim Membrey lot to like???
Did you notice the comment in that phantom draft: "I would be drafting him to be developed into a strong bodied inside midfielder. Has the skillset and as well as the physicality to thrive in this role but having played mostly forward this year it is still an unknown." From some of the co...

Re: Picks 21 and 22 options
Lamb is a concern and he will be available. We don't have enough quality ball users by foot as it is. We can't afford another who is not a good disposer of the ball by foot.

Re: Is Pelchen sticking around?
Didn't think Finnis and Beveridge would put up with a tool like Pelchin regardles of his strengths. Wherever Beveridge goes he succeeds. We have done extremely well to get him to our Club. He will have a massive influence and would be a gun senior coach.

Would trade number 1 in a heart beat to get Treloar. He is an uncomprimising machine and will be a fantastic AFL capatain.

I have spent large chunk of my past 45 years in the horse racing game. After reading all of the posts on this thread I wish I could turn back the clock and have all of you come and nit pick at the yearling sales. I'd be a multi-millionnairre rather than a Saints level 3 reserved seat member....

Re: Petracca
This is not a strong draft for elite top end talent (I said elite). There is plenty of talent which is why we are/were looking to maximise as many early picks as we can get. If we could get say any 3 of Ahern, Laverde, Wright, McCartin or Brayshaw then you can see why our recruiters are looking at t...

Great trade for us, what is it with our supporters, 75% of his games were insipid. No wonder the Cats supporters are so dirty.

Re: Tim membrey
Tim Membrey would never get a game in a top four side, too small for key position and not good enough to play as a forward/rotating mid. Massive pass. bulls*** statement really as basically any player on any AFL list in the right team structure can play in a GF side. You serioulsy believe that all ...

Re: Stick With Petracca
I have been a Petracca fan since he stepped into the TAC Cup and we should draft him with our first pic. I think though Peter Wright could be anything and a future star. He has immense talent and is a freak of an athlete for his size, more risk though given how long it takes for such talls to develo...

Re: GWS to get pick 1
Petracca deserves his high draft ranking. More of a Dustin Martin type who is just at home in the midfield. Does not have the "at all costs" attitude/approach of Wines and I can see why we are looking to trade number 1 as the weakest top 10 draft for many years. Good year to trade number 1...

Re: Petracca
I am 95% certain we will take Peter Wright. A bit more risk than McCartin but could be anything given size and athleticism. He timed his performance very well on the weekend and with the Cannons reoprting he is the best big man they have ever had (as they do) the momentum and push for him to be no 1...

Re: Is there any chance H. Goddard could slip to our second
He had a pretty ordinary Under 18 championship. McCartin seems to me to be a better fit. He has a touch of the old time footballer about him. Can take a mark and likes to push opponents out of the way. Also like Petracca who had a monster championship. Was the Division One B & F. We also need a...

Even though he does not have the talent we are very poorly coached. To continue to let them drop a spare across half back (Mackie most of the time) without pushing one back to ensere this does not happen is dissapointing.

Re: emma quale on the draft
I don't think Petracca will be in the top 3 but I think he will be a fantatsic ball winning/goal kicking mid. Fantatsic power and acceleration over the first 15 and he just keeps on taking his game to the next level. Going to be a gun. His basketabll background is very evident. McCartin has better ...

Cavarra has been a stand out in the VFL. Will get his chance next year and will be a very good AFL player, still only 19.

This is how he plays in the VFL, plus plenty of piss poor efforts yet he gets rewarded with a game.samuraisaint wrote:If Lee continues to do things like that he won't be playing in the seniors for very long. Very poor decision making.

Re: Rhys Stanley
I actually think we must persist with Stanley in the same way we persisted with Jason Blake. Blake was absolute gumby for 50 per cent of his career, until he matured into a half-decent defender. And now he's remembered as a loyal servant, etc. Stanley will get there but only when he feels completel...

Ross is a good player at VFL level but you are spot on regarding his lack of speed. He is just not up to it.dragit wrote:Stanley, Schneider & Jones can't complain if they are running around for sandringham next week...

ORourke Plowman Jaksch all uncontracted so will be Josh Bruce situation if any of these want to get opportunity and payed more $ saints are the best fit plus finishing low means Gws have to deal as all these want to come home to Victoria they won't go the Lions . Really hope they get Lamb can play ...
