Re: Is it time to play Row as a Key forward

I did suggest on another topic that I would rest Marshall at FF ind replace Cordy with Campbell for this week only. I think Marshall may need a break before the bye so this would be a compromise

Re: My thoughts on the game.

To me it seemed we got a bit cocky and played around too much toward the end of the first I think we lost the hard edge and let them work their way back into it A bit of luck in the last and we could have won but too many bombs to them.

Re: Our fwd set up long term

The forgotten man Jack Hayes was seen to be that Bulli king forward / second ruck, although I think he is still a way off playing but this is a “ in the future” topic

Re: Whispers of Bing to Pies

Imagine going to Collingwood on a big dollar long term deal you wouldn’t know when you were going to be moved along same as Grundy and Trelor I guess Geelong will land him to replace Hawkins they seem to have a bottomless salary cap

Re: Changes v paper baggers

I reckon Campbell for Caminiti provide a contest and give Roma a chopout. Membrey replaces Corey. Gresham out for Steele although I wonder if he would be a good impact as a sub

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?

They just showed it on the today show one angle clearly shows Murphy hits him first in the neck/ jaw then he responds. It is off the ball but not like Caminiti hit him from nowhere.

Going to be interesting as senior players become available there was also another thread hinting that Keelor may debut shortly as well,

Great news !!!
Going forward we need to keep our good players and attract more good players to join us, rather than losing them.

That needs to be the way forward when the big boys come back not bomb it to King, spread it around and limit the double/triple teaming

Re: Caminiti

Hopefully he can be as reliable / good as say Miacheck for Coll. even in his first game he was competing and bring ball to ground perfect partner for Membrey & king

Re: Training today

I thought last year on footy clas Ross was quite positive when doing our end of year review.
Then he became our new coach.
He would have I’m sure put a pencil through some players before he came on board and probably some more now he knows them better.

Do we have someone in that position at the saints? An ex player would be a good fit

Re: How did we look as a collective .

I live in Brisy and went to Lions-Geelong game Thursday night as it was not far from home. Both sides were pretty scrappy a lot of missed passes lions were 5.9 at one stage a fair few out on fulls both sides, no real wind. Both these would be expected to finish top 4 .

Re: NWM in defence.

Is it possible that he is playing in defence to make him more rounded as a player ? If the defensive side previously was lacking now he would be fast tracking his development also would appreciate what it’s like coming out of the backline and how players up field should present.

My previous comment on Membrey being first option was related to our current situation with injuries him being the most experienced forward atm.

Re: Zak Jones

I reckon it will be a long hard season and not many players will play every game they will be managed/rested sometime.
If some of these guys miss games it’s ok as it’s been pointed out there is a bit of competition for spots and if they become bit players still better than pick 67.

Re: Role players in 2023

I think a lot of this is dependant on the cattle available at your disposal. If you have a team full of stars you can play how you want and dictate terms, we have never had that even at our best we’re short some a & b graders some role players become a vital part of the team with a job to do.

He’s a football shock jock ,always has been.
Early days was with Bris. Courier Mail used to bag lions no end, and not justified at the time.
