Re: Serious question

In reality we all knew this was coming ,winning that Ess. game gave me a false impression that maybe things wouldn't be that bad. I honestly think we miss Eli more than we'll admit, since Milney retired no one looks like kicking a goal although Billings did ok but seems to play further up the ground...

Re: GWILT out forever....

He was playing well before the knee and has failed to return to that form/ability,but the backline isn't as good either.
Might be a case as is a few players that they are not great players in their own right and is highlighted in a generally poor side.

Next captain?

This hasn't been mentioned for a while so who would be likely next captain? Maybe Roo co-captain? I scoffed at carlton years ago at having no obvious choice, twice I think first when ratten retired, then Kouta, they recruited Judd and made him captain. Not sure how many people thought Maxwell would re...

Re: Hear me out hypothetical Riewoldt trade

I thought his family moved to melb years ago, even started a business too I think. GC wont want him unless they think with him they will the premiership next year. Like Coll last year (who maybe got closer than we realise) only a team that thinks he is the difference between winning the cup or missin...

Re: What Roo needs.

We haven't had a 2 pronged attack since Fraser Gerihg days. Kosi did a job I get the impression his body didn't let him do better,he got some critism but we had no other options. Maister & Lee don't seem to be the help. Stanley has had injuries and inconsistent plus second ruck duties. Leigh Bro...

Re: On the Couch tomorrow

There's a lot of talk publically now about the mental state/scars of players from losing those grand finals. How about the coach? He had done the best he could at the time, but it didn't happen and everyone has an opinion in hindsight, cos we lost. He was done with this club mentally, just like Terry ...

Re: What Roo needs.

Cant see Roo standing in the goal square, working.
We would need to play one on one football and actually get the ball up there, unfortuneately I don't know if we can do that at the moment.

Re: Couple of questions

used up some frequent flyer points and went to the first live game for maybe 2 yrs. MiIera, I thought looks casual as a lot of "silky skills"players seem to.Does a few eddie betts run downs but one chase (2nd qtr?) through centre square he just gave up and let the rich player run into forw...

Re: comparisons with port

I think that most people think of Port 18 months ago, when they were crap broke and lost their way on & off the field. Kosh went in to take over off the field, seemed like no-one wanted to be the coach, Hinkley seemed like last one left standing. It all clicked and they improved above expectations...

Jayson Daniels, played abit in the seniors, was pretty popular, left & came back.
he used to get the ball abit, but his kicking! People on here would be squealing.

Re: Experienced Assistant Coaches?

Reality check needed. This is where we are at. Paul Roos has the demons showing something, how many thrashings have they & bulldogs had over last few years? You could probably count bris. as well. Over time the list & coaching staff will change over. Radical off field changes only have an eff...

That is what I am actually asking, of people that are better judges than me and watch more closely than me.
Would Cripps & Lynch be better in our lineup than some of the others currently borderline players, that cant cement a spot?

Re: GWS 26 points up...bottom beckons..

I'm probably abit more sensitive & paranoid.
Like when a 2 club player is caught being naughty he's an ex St.Kilda player, and when he's an angel he belongs to the other team.

Re: Jamie Cripps

IMO its just disappointing that during a time when a few other drafting choices didn't work out,to also lose young players that we put some time into leave and then get games elsewhere. The real question is would they be a cut above & playing regularly or would they be in battle on the fringe wi...

Re: GWS 26 points up...bottom beckons..

I'm over 40 and I don't want anymore spoons. On the tv telecast I noticed Craig Lambet in the GWS coaching panel on the sidelines, during the game the commentators were rattling off about GWS being high in comp for clearances,he was credited with the success of lions midfield during premiership years...

Re: emma quale on the draft

I don't know what GWS backline consists of but maybe they are just covering their backside in regard to recruiting big KPF's. There's been plenty of inconsistant forwards who have moved back with good success, and can swing forward to mix it up. Some others may be right that they are stocking up to t...

Re: End of season delistings

Personally I think fish is cooked, but if he gets back & plays a few games then great. GWS sniffed around last year, if he is fit & they think they can get 2 yrs out of him,he may just be a sweetener in a trade. On his own I don't think he's worth anything. I hear everyone on here wanting to...

Re: Potential Mature-Age Draftees

Dawes like Pods was I think a mature age recruit.Played ok at coll probably didn't look like a star, they then got Quinten Lynch who I guess looked like a better version ,Dawes pulled pin & went to Melb. I thought he was done, and looked like it up until the last couple of weeks,by all reports is ...

I think Richo said the other night on TV,that they would start looking at the list & drafting in the next couple of weeks.
I would hope that players who weren't gonna be around next year wouldn't be getting many more games.( except Lenny)

Re: Failed: AFL report says of Hawthorn's Tasmanian push

I would imagine Haw. would have first option on this, would they take it? They may think they are strong enough now to do without Tassie or play one away game to keep supporters happy. Do they rely on income from Tassie ? IMO North should have taken the money and moved to the gold coast, but I'm not ...

Re: Joey to the bummers

Maybe Joey is more interested in his TV duties.
In all fairness in a side like ours presently he's going to cop more attention the same as NDS would have if he stayed.
Stay or go, whatever, just allow the club a good deal.
Ess would consider themselves a prem. chance so a topup would seem appropriate.
