Re: Ben Reid our next key defender?
No chance in hell of getting him. We would need to break the bank and the salary cap just won't allow us to do that and unfortunately we don't have Visy or Channel 9 to boost the wages of our players unlike certain other teams. A better option would be to chase Mitch Brown from the Eagles. Big stron...

Re: $8.78 million
The key things this will be the resignings. A players worth is exactly what he would be paid on the open market. So guys like Kosi an Gram are currently, it appears, dramatically overpaid. The most either would get offered by another club at this stage of their careers is about $200K, Gram maybe a l...

I am surprised that Saad didn't get a rest given the concussion.
It is no surprise to see Newnes out for Fisher but I thought Simpkin had done enough to keep his spot above Gwilt or Clarke.

Re: 10+ years member jumper
They have already changed it from 10 years+ to now 5 years+ and if they don't get the numbers they require will open it up to all members. incorrect - was always the plan to have 10 = on the front and 5=9 on the back.. but believe what you will obviously the club can't do much right by you exzctly ...

Re: 10+ years member jumper
I think it's a great idea & bought my "Naming Rights" as soon as I got the email. The people that bleat on & on about the club not doing anything for "them" give me the s***s! We choose to support the club. No one is forcing you to purchase any "extras". I'm su...

Re: 10+ years member jumper
This is just cynical rubbish by the club. We are honouring 10 year plus members by letting them donate $250 to the club and in return get a $50 jumper with their name printed on it somewhere. I have been a social club member for 15+ years but no way will I be doing this. I have a Rebels membership a...

I put $20 on the Giants for the first game of the year against the Swans. At $17 for a two horse race I thought it was just too tempting. Lost but it was wortha shot.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
saintspremiers, statistics can be misleading as we know with the Ablett V Dale Thomas scenario last week. A player can have only 10 possessions yet have a huge impact on the game, whilst a players can have 50 possessions and not have a meaningful influence. Healthy debate is good btw, no need for a...

Re: MRP Round 10
Do we get player reports? Of course not. Clearly we do! Any Fantasy Footy coach will tell you that! Number of disposals, kicking efficiency, tackles, 1%ers, pressure acts, clangers, dream team points....all measure performance of a player. These are just raw stats and we can draw our own conclusion...

Re: Grant Thomas comments on Kosi
I don't doubt that Kozi works hard at his preparation now. This year he is definately getting the rewards and playing really well. However, it is also impossible to argue that he has been a massive disappointment for a great part of his career. His performances have not been those of a number two dr...

Re: Lyon sniffing around
Well what I don't understand is the article says he needs "nippy on-ballers".
BJ, Monty and Dal are talented and skilled but you wouldn't say any of them are nippy particularly BJ and Dal.
If he is looking for pace then are our experienced players is the last place he would look for it.

It is a great timeslot for those of us who don't have kids as well. Go to the footy, then listen to the players in the Social club after the game and then out to dinner and home by 11:00. I am a fan of Saturday Twilight games though not so much on Sundays. It is a better timeslot than Friday or Satu...

Re: Dear Ross Lyon
I am not sure that Freo is the best location for Ross.
His style of football is very tiring and I am not sure it will be easy to implement week in week out on the large open WACA ground.
It is very hard to stifle the opposition when there is so much room to play with.

That c**k knocker Finey was saying it's jack's fault for having a funny running style so he hobbles anyway so it will be disgraceful if Mc Glynn goes down for it. Maybe he should just go follow the dons or someone else, most negative fan ever and I read the stuff on here. Something totally unrelate...

Well that would explain a lot. I remember saying to my friend at the game "That I had never seen a player that slow before as he was in the 1st quarter".
He did improve a little as the game wore on but still a poor night by him.

I would ask the following: Have you ever considered body piecing and if so whose body? What really happened to the crew of the Mary Celeste? Are you more a Jimmy Little or Jimmy Hoffa fan? If you could turn back time, If you could find a way, would you? Why do people never say "it's only a game...

Re: An IDEA for the Swans game !!
Jimmy is playing though. Perfect replacement for Blake. I am afraid I don't agree at all. Jimmy's greatest strengths are his ability to run and carry and his ability to deliver the ball coming out of defence. His biggest weakness in the defensive role is playing against the big beast forwards which...

There is an old football adage that goes "A good big man will beat a good small man every day of the week." This does not mean "A poor to ordinary big man will beat a good small man." So why do we keep playing big guys who are not good enough "for structure"? Kosi is o...

Re: I saw a St Kilda side.
What I saw was a team who were absolutely smashed in the first half. They then got back into the game as their opponents took the foot off the gas in the third quarter. Then each time they looked like they might just make a challenge the eagles slipped a gear and just did enough. What I saw was a si...
