I'm not even too sure about Carlton. They play some exciting football at times and are prepared to take risks.

Selfless
The commentators pretty well summed the Richmond attitude to each other and the way they play the game. They learnt that attitude and built on it after they were flogged by the Saints last year. Because that was pretty much the last time the Saints played with a selfless and even relentless mindset....

And if the Saints fans with pitchforks ever had their way then young players like Dunstan, Long, Ross and McCartin wouldn't be out there today! Lol! Wtf are you talking about? The pitch fork brigade have been all about playing the youngsters. The pitch forks are out for Geary, Koby, Brown, Gilbo an...

Watching the Dare Sainter of the Day award interview with Geary didn't fill me with optimism. He waffled on about Brown keeping Hawkins quiet (Yeah, while skilful, quicker players danced around him into open goals). He said :"They (Geelong) made the most of their opportunities going forward&quo...

If we continue getting thumped then Rice, Joyce, Connellan, Phillips should all get a guernsey ahead of the loping, corrallers in the firsts fail to to put pressure on the opposition's ball-carriers, can't stick tackles, don't shepherd and have the foot passing skills of an Auskicker.

True. He can play!!! He has all the ability, however, he needs to demonstrate mature leadership traits. Petulant pretty well sums up his attitude and, sadly, it is contagious .Joffa Burns wrote:Easily in our best two players but far too petulant to be a leader.

Re: RUBBISH!
Do you know Latin? It's a motto that can sometimes be used to excuse mediocrity. Past astute coaches such as Jeans used the "Strength through Loyalty" badge s a motivator. It shouldn't be bandied about as an acceptance recipe for defeat, or we'll be stuck in the mire, for yonks (if not et...

He could be even better if the ruck coach didn't teach him how to grapple. It's dumb arsed football, easily picked up by the umpires!

Re: Between the ears
The disgracefully poor attitude of Carlisle spread like an epidemic through the team. Will Richardson have tlhe courage to tackle this man and his dummy spits? Allowing him to sulk sends a message to his team-mates that the coach is weak. If it's not nipped in the bud, we're doomed!

The Saints are seriously short on aggression, skill and team spirit. They looked like a bunch of plodders reacting to the play-makers instead of initiating the play.

The best we'll get out of Richo on 360. "It was a disappointing last quarter" "Looking for a more consistent, four-quarter effort" "We have to move on to next week" Easy, breezy, no worries, all relaxed. Good times when you're the coach and banking the big dollars on a...

Re: Who has done enough to keep their spot?
It’s what StKilda has always done _sack the coach which means each time we start all over again. You need to work through the issues instead of a knee jerk reaction. You pay out the coach and then in 2 or 3 years you do it again. I’ve been following this team for 50 years and I have lost count of t...

Match Payments
A $10 000 donation to the Good Friday Appeal by the whole team, including coaches is an insult. On today's lazy, insipid performance by a bunch prima donnas, they should be fined at least the whole of today's match payment and the lot donated to charity.

Re: Billy Cost Us The Game
Having watched the game three times, I'm staggered nobody has commented on the elephant in the room. Billy Longer cost us the game. All he needed to do was contest that last ruck contest. He didn't. We lost! Statistics for the game would indicate that you're right, Bernard! Ryder had 15 possessions...

Defensively, we're as fast as treacle flowing uphill and in attacking mode just as predictable. Is Gilbee the right fit as reserves coach? There appears to be no-one putting pressure on players in the firsts. Mediocrity isn't being challenged.

ran out of legs? No chasing, tackling, or precise kicking pressure on North in the last quarter. Can the Saints up the ante against quality sides in weeks to come?
