Re: Who will be our new assistant coaches?
With all due respect Tony Micale should never have held that position simply because he's only ever been a coach at WAFL level. As good as he may have been i think a person directly involved in the day to day coaching at AFL level be it even assistants roles should be a minimum.Obviously poor Tony b...

Re: StKFC draft selection history
Have to agree Cairnsman, the way the draft is set up now and the whole process is way more professional than what it was. The draft camp, measuring and assessment of each and every individual is so thorough that it has a tendency to separate the kids that really want to play at an elite level. If we ...

All three would be great. Good quality with Dunstan being an MVP and captain of his state shows we are looking at quality people as well as quality footballers.

Re: Colorado trips -any value?
Its debatable if it has any significant physical value. I heard a radio interview with a sports scientist that stated that the initial benefits are gained from 4 to 6 weeks after which means if they go mid to late November anything gained virtually goes before the season starts. The benefit is gain...

Re: Caro sinks the boots in again. Friday morning update
I tried to post a comment on the Real Footy website suggesting Caroline had been a bit silly with the "tigers won't release him" slant and that she had dug herself a hole now that Richo was appointed. Needless to say it was not published. Why does'nt that surprise me, so its ok for her to...

Re: Caro sinks the boots in again. Friday morning update
Is there nothing she can write that is informative and unbiased. Compare the two stories Caro's and Emma Quayles. Quayles talks about some players being delisted but in an unbiased and informative manner. Caro just loves to rake all the muck and put negative spins and it seems to work because we are...

Re: On Hindsight it’s staggering
The theme of embracing the veterans could be due to the damage caused by SW asking them to stop celebrating their past efforts and accepting mediocrity. He's going to rebuild but may also have to rebuild a faith and belief in our veterans that they still have a valuable role to play especially with ...

Re: Matt Scharenberg
To be quite honest he will be told by Mr Moneyball Pelchen who to pick because he has a strategy. Richo even used the strategy word during the press conference. If he's lucky the Pelican will let him lick the spoon when he's finished mixing his strategy.

Re: The timing of the hire
Its so typical of us, we have a vision one of which we have no real clue. I wish our President or board would grandstand when we get done over. Did anyone say anything when RL left. We had ample time to get it right but according to our review everything was hunky dory but the review was ongoing an...

Re: Richo over the line ....
I'm now feeling uncomfortable about getting another Mick Malthouse protege/understudy. Seems like they all have mental scars and feel some need to prove themselves with a tough guy act. AR might be an awesome Asst. Being the the top dog is very different and can bring out the worst in people if the...

Re: Richo over the line ....
3. Richardson hasn't yet resigned from Port Adelaide. So the club can't confirm anything. Also need to consider that the club would like to make this important announcement at a properly arranged Press Conference rather than just putting out a statement or "tweeting" the news. So the coac...

Re: Richo over the line ....
If Richo has done a back flip you'd have to say that Williams has not got what he wants whereas Richardson who still does not command top dollar may have had an offer that was too good to refuse for a guy at his level. I can't see why someone who was knocked back last time would come back again if t...

Re: Shortlist of 2 for new coach by Wednesday
I'm ok with Williams coaching just have a problem with the word process which is something that Mr Summers kept referring to in his press conference. It appears the process was a thing in business that we adhere to that sounds all nice and furry but at the end of the day we'll decide whether to adhe...

Re: Austin Jones worthy of short list
It would be great to have all our old favorites at the club in some capacity but we need to be mindful that we need to get the best possible group of people rather some of our old favorites. I love Aussie but is he the right fit for the club at this very moment, maybe not.We are a loyal lot and in t...

Re: Surely not the next best coach
I know AFL is now a business but something that Choco brings is the tradition mindset. We must remember he was brought up in one of the most famous footballing families in Sth Australia that just oozed tradition and i believe as difficult as it maybe to put in place i'm reasonably confident that Cho...

Re: Can we get it right.
Its great to be able to multi task. Businesses love to get the most out of one bloke for the salary of one. He does seem to wear a lot of hats as well as the ones we don't know about, they must be the ones he creates as he goes along so that his job becomes so important the board say "this blok...
