Re: well done Spencer

A real credit to his parents as well as himself. A great way to taking that giant step as a youngster into the world of AFL. These are the kind of positives we like to see about our players and club, far too much focus on the negatives. Where are all the journalists when we have a human story. Obviou...

Re: Free Agency

Interesting question, we'll get to see how much clout Pelchen has after they announce the new coach. I'm tipping Jolly could well be gone now that SW has gone. I still firmly believe Pelchen has far too much say when it comes to the team.

Re: So what is the club structure exactly?

I understand that football is a business and structures and process are at the forefront but who mentions these when accepting the premiership medallion or cup. Yes we need those processes but i doubt its only background. The quality of the cattle on the park brings all that process to fruition. Wit...

Re: Bit sick of the vilification of Scott Watters

I believe he did that interview knowing it would be his last opportunity to get his opinion across before getting the flick and having the confidentiality clause. By saying what he said about his discussions with Summers during the interview it appeared he may have been taking a pot shot in calling ...

Re: Garlett?

Irrespective of who the coach is you get the impression Pelchen and Bains will have identified the required players and will pick accordingly. From what we can take over the past few days the coaches are directed by the head of football so its safe to say the recruiters will have an opinion but will...

Re: Other considerations now Watters is gone..

If we are to believe the club direction these issues should depend on Chris Pelchen as he supposedly heads our football department. Most new coaches would like to bring in people they can work with but again it should all depend on Pelchen and the new coach accepting his direction. If the remaining gu...

Re: Hall of Shame Members

Its laughable that the panel will probably consist of a broad range of people that specialise in different areas when according to the current club structures all you are being asked to do is coach the players and answer to the head of football department. No it's not. It's a way to share the blame...

Agree, the fish stinks from the head meaning the board have a lot to answer for.I agree SW had to go but isnt the coach usually the casualty in clubs underperforming its very rare to see board members get the flick.

Re: Scott Watters sacked: Official SS reaction thread

Were we not suppose to step out of the bubble after Lyon and try and sell ourselves a bit more to the media. Irrespective of whether he could coach or not the whole thing is bordering on ridiculous. After seeing what we are like no wonder Lyon kept everything under wraps. The club is bigger than the ...

Re: Rhys Stanley

I think Gherig was stuck with the look like Tarzan played like Jane, obviously changed when he got to us. Maybe Stanley needs a bit of a rocket before we see the best of him. The G Train was still an All Australian at age 21 and a first round pick in 1993 (16). I think after that he had 1 or 2 quie...

With the exception of Melbourne and Brisbane you'd have to say he graded according to ladder position and form from the past season. We lost two players that were not going to win us big games and added some young guys that should improve by getting good game time and we also managed 3 relatively ea...

Theme this year appears to be youngsters are homesick or are clubs talking to them throughout the year. Brisbane seems to have been hit the hardest but no doubt the AFL will have to look at the kids taken by interstate clubs.
