Re: POLL Y or N- happy for Ross to be our guy again?
Voted "no" to Ross in the poll but he's now back on board again so let's hope that he can work a miracle or two and get the Saints to that second flag (and preferably even more!).

Re: Bowes
The AFL making it up as they go along so that it helps out their Gold Coast love child. Mismanagement by the Gold Coast got themselves into that mess and they should have had to work their own way out. There is no way that trade should have been permitted.

Re: Joyce delisted
In the last few years we have lost 4 KPD's - Carlisle, Clav, Frawley now Joyce - Adams is the only replacement brought in and he by all accounts is way off it atm. Surely they must have a KPD trade/free agent ( or 2) in mind as replacment ? I certainly hope so. + 1. Stocks are a bit thin on the gro...

Re: My take on the Saints in Round 23.
The less I see of the chip, chip football the better. Yes, I would concede you can't play run and gun all day but we don't have the skill set of Geelong say to make the short passing game work consistently. The Saints looked so much better having a crack. Kicking backwards when we were coming hard a...

Re: King 0.5 to 5.0
The left foot boundary set shot Max attempted was an example of poor technique. He just dropped the ball somewhere near his foot and didn't guide it with his hand. Would have been a miracle if it had gone through. Surely someone can sort that out.
Otherwise Max had a good day.

Fortunately we only have one TV and the wife was watching the Commonwealth Games.
Went to bed not knowing the score and had a dream that Geelong put 45 goals on us in the second half. Woke up today and find it didn't happen. Thank goodness.

Re: Current Forward Set Ups across the AFL
The small forward set up has proven to have deficiencies regularly. Small forwards need to hold the ball in and take advantage of loose crumbs. A mosquito fleet might work if most had some reasonable pace - only Butler has. Higgins can be combative (for his size) in the air. Is it a surprise when th...

Re: First it was Hocking and now it's Brad Scott....
You can bet that after the adverse commentary on the dissent rule that Scott will come out Monday morning and back it to the hilt. I don't have an issue with the AFL taking a firmer stance against umpire abuse but the way this rule has been implemented is flawed and so inconsistently adjudicated tha...

The footy gods can be such cruel so and so's.
Jack gives 100% effort 100% of the time and hopefully his recovery goes well and we see him back better than ever next season!

Re: Match Thread Saints v Tigers Round 3 2022
Was concerned going into the game that Richmond's run could bring us unstuck, particularly with a taller Saint's side in. Looked grim till midway through the third but the Saints powered over the top of them - didn't see that onslaught coming. Richmond's run got up and left as the Saint's pressure r...

Re: Teams saints v toothless
Wood has been useless I was thinking the same thing when you posted this, but Mason was a good contributor today. Great team effort +1. Expected him to play for Sandy next week after being very quiet but really lifted as the match wore on. He just needs to bring the good stuff more consistently (sh...

Re: Team for round 2
It’s an absolute vomit of a team. Highmore not playing but Joyce is. The bloke who kicked four against Freo last time deemed not good enough this week. We’re back to Cho era Match Committee. I’m starting to really, really resent this coaching and selection panel. Yep, struggling to come to grips wi...

I know it is wishful thinking but I would have liked Lethlean’s promotion to have come with the rider that he repay the club the value of Hannebery’s contract.

Re: Review of VFL practice match v Collingwood
I'm a might confused - so the entries into the forward line were an issue. They apparently had Connolly running to good spots and didn't give him the ball and he has probably better disposal than quite a few others. So that sounds like they are not using his skills to advantage to improve the situat...

Re: Why didn't Sharman play last night?
May be well wide of the mark but there were some comments in pre-season about Sharman not exactly shining on the training paddock. Could be one of those players who gets by at training but really enjoys playing. Possibly that may not sit well with coaches who expect the training effort to be there t...

Re: Match Thread Rd 1 vs the Filth
All the issues that have been flagged for some time (slow midfield, bombing into the forward line, lack of spacing, poor structure etc etc) were on full display yet again tonight. Moore is a good player and dumping the ball on King's head just made it too easy for Moore. Very disappointed that time ...
