Re: Gilbo to GC Trade
I am thinking the 13/Gilbo for Caddy/Hickey trade would be a real win:win for both parties. Gilbo could really help the GC. He is a good tall experienced and hardened player who basically never gets injured. Also a local boy. And we have a developing direct replacement (tall running back) in Fergus...

Re: Tom Lee Traded for our pick 12
Hopefully he's our Tom Hawkins . He was close to being shown the door in 2011 and look how he turned out b& f in 2012. Some of these big forwards take a while to match it with the big boys but when they turn the corner - look out.

Re: Raph Clarke on the move
So if he goes as a free agent, does that mean the "net loss" to saints will will increase from a pick at 13 to say..................12?
Which means that our pick we had at 12 will drop to pick 13.
End result = pick 12 and 13. yay.

Re: James Frawley trade update
They're possibly morons that are doing the trades at the Dees if the Dawes and Wellingham for pick 4 is correct. We should just offer Polo and Peake and an actual potato to them. They might give us Jack Watts and Scully to get the deal done. Surely they couldn't be that stupid . Dawes is worth bugg...

Apparently stuck on the south/eastern. Id love to know our 3/5 year plan as we dont even know the age of the players we re lookin at now. Do we write off the next two years while we rebuild . Now that Goddard is gone its a massive gap between dal roo , hayes etc to the next group. ' Are they just th...

Re: Brendon Goddard set to sign with Essendon
What is the condition of his knee. Could that be a factor re the forth year. Can't remember him jumping on anyone's shoulders for two years now . Maybe the club took this into consideration as they know his body . Ess wouldn't have a clue as to the true condition of it. Hopefully this backfires on t...

Re: Brendon Goddard set to sign with Essendon
Compared to Hayes and Roo, BJ is expensive. Compared to Gram and Kosi he is cheap. However if you are going to right the ship, you have to start paying enough to you best, that it does not cripple you with the rest. It is probably unfortunate for BJ that he is up for renegotiation just when this fo...

Re: $850,000-a-year deal for Goddard
I wouldnt worry too much about a story written by Greg Dehnam. I hear him on sen and he offers absolutely nothing except obvious non-committal comments that anyone off the street could say simply by reading the paper, listening to the radio etc. Thats why he writes for the Australian. Hes safe to wr...

No way! I hate the beiber wannabe. Plus he's far from a grade which is what you want from pick 12. Plus def don't want a "win win" deal with the pies. A "win loss" to them yes , but give them nothing I say.

I dont get that centrebet ad- who is the blonde chick and what has she got to do with black betty. WTF is she whispering in that fools ear. Are we supposed to gamble our life savings the minute a good lookin blonde chick tells us to?
Also , Where is the black guy from in that movie.

Re: Beware the "total rebuild"!
Of course we should do it well, but you've missed the point. There are significant differences in the way the successful clubs and unsuccessful clubs have operated. The successful clubs have invested heavily in player development... i understood your point, but you've got no evidence to prove it. y...

Re: Malthouse, Goddard and Cloke
I see Greg Swann has categorically ruled out recruitng BJ to Carlton. See the bottom line of the article below re Ratten sacking. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/146181/default.aspx I think Cloke and Mick to Carlton is a serious possibility - As is BJ to Freo. If we can get ...

Re: Malthouse, Goddard and Cloke
The thing is once you lose a quality player like Goddard how do you replace them again. If you're not going to pay top dollar how do we expect to pick up another gun player like Goddard . We won't finish bottom either so we can't pick them up in the draft. There is no point having salary cap money l...

It would want to be a pretty good pick essendon's top pick will be, what, 10 or something? that really doesn't feel like quite enough. first and second picks - 10 and 30? yeah, i reckon, even though i love the bloke and would hate to see him go. but if that left us with roughly 9, 10, 29, 30, 45 we...

Re: A Loss Against the Blues = Freo don't make it?
It's ironic how we need Freo to lose against Melbourne for us to make the finals and they need us to beat Carlton for them to make it. Why should we do Lyon , the Freo board , or Zac Dawson any favours . I say play the kids against Carlton and see what they can do . If they win that's fine , but if ...

At the moment only one game matters and that is Friday night. Win that and I think we will be ok. Lose it and its over. This is the biggest hurdle of all those games , so agree that there's no point even looking until after fri night. If we do win it will be on the back of a spirited massive effort...

Re: Is it over now?
Assuming we win all four games. I mean if we lose against Geelong or Carlton we probably dont deserve to be there anyway. We end up with 13 wins. Ive just done the ladder predictor again and its actually quite difficult for us not to make it with 13 wins and a decent %.
So its not over yet!!
