Re: Paul Hunter delisted

I am somewhat dismayed at the naysayers who crank into life the minute the club's tries its best to solve an ongoing problem. We need a backup ruckman for Paddy who is in the twilight of his career and can't be expected to play every game next season. The club looked around for a quality backup ruck...

Re: Paul Hunter delisted

Just more poor team management from our club Literally left with two ruckman, and now the saviour I guess is the 29yo Campbell who at best is a poor mans McKernan I am left astounded by what our strategy (if any ) is? PS And god forbid we go for Mason Cox, that could just about be a straw looking f...

Top 20 free agents in 2922. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/afl-2022-free-agents-who-will-command-the-most-money-and-attention-next-season/news-story/0036ea54b2179f17694b16c63e3ccd62 I’m gonna say that would be highly speculative this far out. More importantly have we won our second by then?...

Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion

Its nice to see the NGA's outside the top 25. Having watched Johnson in his state games, he is exactly the player we dont need. Although he is a good ball user he has no leg speed or explosive game what so ever. Some have likened him to Pendlebury but he is more like Acres for me and definitely not...

In 2022 our ruck back ups may well be Campbell and Hunter.
I think if we take Campbell you can say goodbye to Hunter.

Yes. But not consistently. Therein lies the problem and the reason he was delisted.

Brady the nose said... We were pretty clear with Tristan (Xerri) the whole way along, he understood that he felt he could get more opportunity at another club, he certainly wasn’t leaving because of any ill-feeling with the club or his teammates. “He’s a very popular member of our team, he’s a 22-y...

Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion

It's always a fun exercise at this time of year to second guess who the club will take with its highest draft pick. I'm also assuming we go to the draft with pick 9 which, after all of the father son fiasco,  will end up pick 11. I think we will approach this draft with a specific wish list. We want...

He would have cost too much and he wanted to play for Sydney who had expressed interest him in the past.

We did really good not to give in to NM. Get him for nothing at the end of 2022 if we are still keen.

Re: Tristan Xerri

NM"s position hard to reconcile. Playing hardball even though X is fourth in the ruck pecking order. On a 1 year deal with the Kangas. The Saints offered him two. NM wants a future second rounder which is way over. X will play all of his footy in the VFL in 2022. No winner but the Saints get to...

Tony Elshaug and Ameet Bains - COME ON DOWN !! Oh wait, they are no longer with us. How convenient for them! Can only hope the current recruiting knows what they are doing. The two kids they are apparently looking at in the upcoming draft sound like real prospects. Owens has a bit of Petracca about...

How do you pronounce Xerri ? Is it Cherry or Zerry ? There's a league player in Sydney with the same surname - pronounced Sherry. Heard Jon Ralph pronounce it Zerry. Guess we'll have to recruit him to find out. Just call him X. That's what he's known as at North. He'll get called worse than X on he...

Lonie

It's been reported that the club deliberately didn't play Lonie, who was one game short of the trigger needed to renew his contract.

Instead they wanted the option of dumping him.

Doesn't bother me but it might upset some people here.

Re: Covid Years and Junior football

I wonder what the effect of 2020/21 lost years for U17s and below will be. Whether this year's and maybe next year's draft will be the last ones for a while with some sort of exposure to competitive football. Whether loading up on picks in 2021 may well be our best bet, and trading picks for player...

St Kilda. Why so quiet?

Another trade period is about to disappear without so much as a squeak from our footy club. In fact the only thing of note which barely qualifies as a thing of note is a pick swap. Should we be concerned? The answer to that depends on how you view our current list. Is our list good enough to win a p...

So is this a case of ex-coach (Richo) picks up one of his old troops? It happens sometimes, but how often does it succeed? Of course it is case by case. With 11 Brownlow votes, even a whiff of success at Melbourne will be more ammo for the media mortars aimed at Moorabbin. Lol Count on Luke being p...
