I thought so as well. Hope they don't drop Holmes and Hickey should never be out of the team.Trixilver wrote:I thought Longer was getting shoulder surgery?

Re: Great touch from the club
I've been a member for over 30 years, have only missed 2 Victorian games in over 20 years (including finals and grand finals) and have never had a player call me :( Maybe I should move interstate :) That is one great effort. I wish I was that keen but those days are unfortunately behind me. You rea...

You can't be serious. The tug of war? The dance-off between the mascots? The woman with the mega-decimal shrieky voice? The vacuous idiot interviewing the kids about the drawings? The load rap music? We are NOT Americans! We are capable of conversation! The best matchday experience this year was wh...

Stevie J cost Geelong the game in the 2nd quarter when he was 30m in the clear, running into an open goal and got run down by Savage.

Re: Saints want Tassie games
I think it would be great for the club if we played the Hawks in Launceston and North in Hobart each year. They would be away games so we wouldn't be losing out on home game benefits and as I mentioned earlier there are a lot of Saints supporters in Tassie. If we could convert them into members and ...

Does the Tassie government also sponsor North Melbourne?
I do agree with P66. I don't think 2 teams in the same town would work.

Saints want Tassie games
I read this in the Mercury when I was there on the weekend but only just remembered about it: ST KILDA wants to become a permanent fixture in Tasmania — at both ends of the state. As the Saints prepare for their blockbuster clash against North Melbourne at Blundstone Arena tomorrow, the Mercury unde...

He sounds like a really good kid. I hope he also turns out to be a great footballer. Agreed. I remember listening to his interview after draft night last year and was impressed with how level headed he was. He seemed very mature and he was a great talker for someone so young. It might take him a ye...

Re: Longer or Hickey this week or is it both
Fisher will prob retire at the end of the year and I would like to have a look at Lee. Sorry - I don't want to hijack P66's thread but if you think Fisher will retire at the end of the year don't you think he should play the remainder of the season. He has been a great servant of the club (twice B ...

Re: Top 10 B&F Predictions
My top 5 would be:
Armo
Steven
Dempster
Joey
Roberton
Very hard to pick from there. I think Roo will be in the top 10 but has missed a few games. Bruce will also be in the top 10 - he started well but his form has dropped off over the past few weeks.

Re: Longer or Hickey this week or is it both
He's a better footballer than Longer, at this stage, better hands and feet, much quicker. Totally agree. Hickey is a better mark than Longer, a better tap ruckman and is a lot better at ground level. I think Longer will be a good player but IMO Hickey is streets ahead of him. Fisher will prob retir...

Re: Players deserving of a chance
Was impressed with Lee yesterday. Good user of the ball and played more of a Dempster role than a key position which were held by Delany and Brown. Not big enough to be a key back but could make it taking the oppositions 2nd or 3rd tall. Given Dempsters age, Lee might be a good replacement for him....
