has anyone ever done some proper research on past fixtures to determine whether having less break than the opposition means you are less likley to win?

Saints theme song circa 1980's??

Does anyone on here remmeber (and preferably have a recording) of the theme song they used to play at Moorabbin the the late 1980's. The words were something like: We're Saints, We're proud And we've got a lot of might We're on the move And you'll see us fight We hit'em nice and hard And make'em dro...

Eddy - did he play in the Sandringham reserves yesterday?

The Age sport scoreboard (page 25 Sunday Age) lists Eddy in the best for the Sandy reserves? Is this the same Eddy who "didn't play for Sandringham" yesterday?
Ducks and drakes - surely that sort of stuff is beneath us. Or maybe not?

Can somebody tell me why they are allowed to call the team "Australia" and wear the australian coat of arms?? Isn't it more acurate to call them the "AFL"? When were the selection trials? Who says the AFL players are even that good at the game? Why don't they have a proper goalke...

the best and fairest is not a fact, its an opinion. True its an eductaed opinion since the match committee know what is expected of the players so they judge them against that. They produced a result that is popular, but in the end somewhat unjust in my opinion. Nick R is streets ahead of the rest o...

thats great for Sam Fisher, rack up another success story for John Beveridge picking him out of the draft in the 40's. From his efforts in the finals he may even me a handy forward - he seems to kick pretty straight. BUT (and isn't there always a but!) nobody could suggest that we would have even ma...

Good post. I noticed the same thing and was similarly bemused. In the end though, who expects to get respect from a television broadcaster? They act in their own interests, certainly not the interests of the public or the football clubs. Not sure Stephen Quarternain had much to do with it, I only ho...

are they the same saints employees who's tawdry tale has been all over the newspapers in the last 2 days? Are they the same saints employees who put the sign "reserved for 2008 premiership" in the trophy cabinet? Is that the same Raphael Clarke who kicked to a contest with 10 seconds to go...

one can only hope that they are right this time, not that I am happy if he is injured (obviously, this is bad luck for the guy) but since his continual selection could only be attributed to either having "incriminating photos" of someone high up at the club or he carries Fraser Gehrig's br...

Raphael Clarke Injured?

injuryupdate.com.au (usually a reliable source) lists Raphael Clarke as hamstring strain, estimated return round 11. It also lists Xavier Clarke as hamstring strain, out until round 10. Make of this what you will. I will not comment on whether Raphael Clarke's supposed hamstring strain contributed t...

Aside from the odd nightclub sighting is there any evidence that he even actually came on board in the first place?
