Re: Must Win 3 of The Next 4

I think we could go 2-2 over the next month and still be in a very good position to launch. It depends of course on how we play and how any losses look. There is nothing massively weong with losing to GWS or the doggies, heck even the swans if they unfortunately happen to click into gear on the wron...

Re: Who are our 'enforcers'?

Yeah, I think the days of 'enforcers' are over. No one can whack you anymore, the only way to really intimidate someone these days is to go hard at the pill. Agree to a point, but as they say, a lot of the difference in elite sport can be between the ears, and so having players that can thrive in a...

Who are our 'enforcers'?

GWS are a tough, they have some tough and niggly characters in their side and their prelim against the dogs was full of sledging, niggle and great footy as well. If we go toe to toe with them, I ask, who are our tough guys? I mean really tough at it who can play physical and thrive in the heat of a ...

Re: Martin, Fyfe or Kelly?

Fyfe all the way, and plan B should be Whitfield. Kelly isn't an out and out star, we have our own budding guns. Thats why I reckon Fyfe is the man. Like Dangerfield to the Cats, he's a star of the comp right now and he should be even better next year if he can get a full season into him this year, ...

I disagree, if he is to develop into a quality afl player he's going to have to average more than 20 posi's a game if he plays wing

Must consistently aim for 20 posi's a game this year, more would be a bonus. I hope he can blossom into a good afl player because it would be another draft steal!!

The 3 amigos of the 2011 draft

I've said it plenty of times, but feel it's worth repeating!! Smack bang in the era of compromised drafts, we struck absolute gold in Seb Ross, Jack Newnes and Jimmy Webster! I can believe how good that stroke of recruiting was! 2 leadership group members and Webster could we'll end up there! Love a...

Awesome news if true! We need the biggest fish in the ocean and that's Fyfe imo. I just hope we leave enough in the war chest to keep some of our other promising young guns!!

Re: Gilbo in the Ruck

Absolutely fantastic to see gilbo in the ruck! Totally evokes the Jason Blake role :-) gilbo is tough as a cats head, his knockers can't deny that!! Relief tuck is absolutely perfect for him!! Ps Longer was again like playing with 21 in general play. He actually seems even more useless around the gr...

Re: Progressing Very Very Nicely

Couple of points. Against arguably the best coaching panel in the league our preparation and implementation was perfect. 100% accolades to the coaching panel. Doesnt always work out that way! Hawks were deplorable, absolutely deplorable. We will learn a bit more next week. Doesn't the second half o...

Re: Can Longer save Richo's hide??

F*** me dead! I just listened to richos pressed and he thought Billy was good last week!! He also basically blamed our entire 3rd quarter annihilation against Melbourne on centre bounce!! No wonder Hickey has been banished to the 2's!! I'm just flabbergasted that anybody, let alone the senior coach ...

Re: The Big Call Up for Koby?

I think he was recruited as a depth player. I was never super impressed when he played for the dogs against us. I would rather promote Sinclair. I don't think he would have left the dogs if our pitch to him was that he was seen purely as a depth player. I think when fit, he can be a good AFL player...

Re: Changes v Hawks

I reckon Jack Steele might be ready for a rest. I'm not too fussed if Steele is rested and I guess rotated with Dunstan, they are very similar players with similar output and impact on games so a rotation of these young guys over the next fortnight wouldn't be earth shattering, they are not match w...

Re: Changes v Hawks

Ins: McCartin, Hickey, Sinclair
Out: Longer, Long, Dunstan (due to popular demand - now he must go back and dominate at VFL to earn a recall)

I think If McCartin comes in, Bruce plays better and I think Roo plays better as well, overall structure. just imo

Re: We will lose 3 in a row

We simply must win this week to keep our season alive and to snuff out all hope for the Hawks. A loss would be utterly disastrous. This is an 8 point game. Absolutely spot on Con! We must keep our season close to on par wins:losses. I believe if we can get to the bye with an even ledger, we give ou...

2017 improvers

1/4 of the season is just about done and here are the guys i reckon have gone up a notch. Unfortunately, it's not that many; we haven't had any 2-4 year players really explode into the start of the season and perhaps this has been the most dissapointing aspect over the first 5 rounds. Early days yet...

Re: Armo out for at least a month

At close to his best he is still better than Dunstan and Steele, but he's behind Seb and Jack Steven now, so if Steele or Dunny go up a gear in output and consistency, then he'd be borderline best 22, but thats ok, he is certainly not cooked! I'd be very surprised if he was back in a month. I'd be t...

Some of you may get your wishes, I reckon Richo might be making a few changes after seeing him on AFL360 last night. Re: Changes v Hawks

In: Hickey, McCartin, Stevens/Sinclair Out: Longer, Long, Dunstan Hickey for Longer a no-brainer. We need to persevere with Paddy and I feel he gives the forward line an extra dimension. Rotate he and Bruce between FF and CHF. I think Paddy is an old-fashioned full forward and will eventually be at...

Re: Team v Cats

Hickey took some very, very valuable marks deep in defence last week - and contested at ground level. He may have some general soreness - hence not playing at any level this week. The performance of Longer will be the determining factor in Hickey AND Longer playing in the same 22 meaning that we do...

Re: Dave Armo

Silver lining - Armo has only produced 1 season (2015) where he was an A grade midfielder...he's been very solid at other times, and done some great inside work, but he's no gun. The common thread has been our midfield is too slow and one dimensional. Well now Armo is likely out for months if not th...
