Re: This Morning
Seb is fully fit, has match fitness and I'd love to see him get a full game and play well. Armo as the sub...ideal scenario...Seb plays well and demands futrther selection based on form and form alone. Armo gets through plays well as the sub and builds towards full match fitness again. FIngers cross...

Re: Tommy Lee
Very interesting and timely article on Tommy Lee! Great to get a few quotes from the coach...but a coach being 100% straight up to a journo about player selection...wouldn't take it to the bank! But it does at least get the issue into the mainstream. Either way we dress it up, we paid a good solid d...

Re: How did Port recover so quickly?
Think Port need to to be applauded for having some guts and bringing in players that I think the wider public thought weren't going to be that good ie: Monfries, White, Shulz, even Polec has come on quicker than anyone could have imagined...Was it luck/great talent ID/coaching and develpoment...prob...

Re: Dylan Roberton
Freo didn't want to let him go at all. Certainly not in the "delist" category for mine... Having a poor year, which injuries haven't helped, but he is a good footballer when his body is right and has plenty of time up his sleeve yet. This. Is a good size, good in the air, reads play well ...

Re: Some targets ripe for the picking
Very intersting read. I note the part where an insider talks about the industries lack of patience with young players and the dissappearance of the 3-4 year apprenticeship. I'm not so sure about this. With no new expansion teams on the horizon and the draft back to normal for 2 years now, I think a ...

Re: Ready for 2015? I am!
By the time these kids get to 50-70 games Hayes, Fosher, Schnieder, Montagna Riewoldt, Dempster will be gone In my mind That is probably 4 of the top 6 in the current B&F and Schnieder was probably Bog Vs Ess. So to think in 2015/16 we are going to be better than now.... Is not a fair accompli ...

Re: Dylan Roberton
I think Roberton has been hampered by injury, which had affected form and confidence...but... 1. He's a classic example of being a bit of a smokey recruit under one coach, who's game style he suited a lot more having a good run. 2. He was on Freo's list for 3-4 years and unfortunately it looked like...

Re: Acres injury
Didn't Richo expressly say in the post-match presser that Delaney was subbed for a hip (he was asked a direct question about it)? Seems odd to make up something that specific if not true. I agree with Saint Wagga - I have been waiting all week for word on the "Delaney hip", and nothing ha...

Re: Acres injury
Sometimes ligament injuries can be 'run out'...ie: the initial pain settles and a bit like a burner, or a corky, once strapped up, or even jabbed (as long as the docs are confident it's ligamentous only and not fractured - if you can weight bear, even painfully, it's generally not fractured) you are...

Re: Ready for 2015? I am!
I'm still a bit worried about the actual number of 'kids' that are going to have decent games tallies chalked up by seasons end...barring injury and form slumps... 1. Newnes will be early to mid 40's 2. Webster mid 30's 3. Curren mid 20's 4. Dunstan 20 or so 5. Billings mid t0 late teens 6. Longer r...

Re: Goal kickers needed....
Has to be Tommy Lee in the 2nd half of the season. If he doesn't come straight in after the bye I will be absolutely flabbergasted! Wouldn't he first need to show some form and kick some goals in the VFL? He's kicked 9 goals playing as a ruck/fwd… sounds like they are pretty happy with how he is go...

Has to be Tommy Lee in the 2nd half of the season. If he doesn't come straight in after the bye I will be absolutely flabbergasted! I'm almost convnced that they've said to him, play the first half in the 2's, get your fitness up and he's done that, has played every game, no injury, no recurrence of...

Re: Acres injury
If it's an ankle it's going to be a medial ankle by the way he fell and the angle of the forces...medial's are generally worse, and i wouldn't be surprised if the unlucky youngster is looking at a decent stretch on the sidelines...fingers are crossed though!

I agree, It will probably be a done deal, but do you reckon the club is considering pitching a massive 5 year deal to try and lure him away? Is he worth it?

Nat Fyfe
Read a story on the AFL website this morning that mentioned that Fyfe is out of contract at season's end and would consider a move to Melbourne if the deal was right! With his age, games played and injury profile, i'm wondering if people think he is worth having a masssive crack at given our salary ...

Breakout games vs breakout seasons
I thought two players in particular had 'breakout games' last week. Both Jack Newnes and Cam Shenton played their best games for the club and were in the top 4-5 players for the saints. For Newnes, it was pleasing to see after some good early season form, but a noticeable dip in our last 2 losses. H...

Re: 4 weeks of observations
A fair assessment and everyone is due their opinion! I agree wholeheartedly that our Three amigos remain the clubs best players consistently by a stretch(and that's ok, especially if the fire in lenny still burns and he goes around again next year)...but I reckon ur best point is that the sooner our...

Weekend Injuries
1. Does someone have any inside info on the injury to Delaney? He was playing really well and I've been so encouraged by his improving form since rd 1. It's bloody good to finally have a big bodied backman take clutch marks or bigtime spoils...felt like he's really hitting his straps as he becomes m...

6. (Don't hook into to me for this, i just really wish it happens)...Curren and Weller both play full game and either Force C Jones out of the team or he's left out and can't force his way in due to form from the youngsters...(it's not personal, i just don't think we can have a player of such poor ...

Hoprefully this weekend...
1. Our midfield pressure is right back to it's early season best and team defence is the order of the day. 2. We convert better than last week ( we had enough shots on goal to put serious scoreboard pressure on Carlton, just some bad luck, so lets hope it turns our way) 3. Return to form for J Webst...

Re: Inexperinced or just not good enough?
Good point Bergholt...hopefully we can recruit far more astutely than melbourne and also attract some high end talent thru free agency at the right time when closer to our window opening to avoid having too many GOP's (a lot rests with Pelchen, fingers crossed he gets it done!!)

Re: Inexperinced or just not good enough?
Joey was in and out of a much better performed side in most of his formative years, a side that for the most was competing for finals and 04 and 05, MASSIVE finals! I'm interested to see if people think this will affect our youngsters, for better or worse...IMO We'll probably have a higher attrition...

Re: Have a guess at our final position for 2014.
Feel like where at a real tipping point of the season, where confidence took a monster hit against Hawks, and crawled back a little competitivness against a far inferior team in the blues...With the Suns, if they play as well as they can and really maul us by 40+ points (unthinkable after the Essend...

Re: Inexperinced or just not good enough?
Some players can buck the trend and come in and have immediate impact at AFL level at age 18/19...it's usually a good sign that they'll be gun players for a good long career (But not a 100% guarantee). It aint the norm though, some gun players still take 2-3 seasons to find their feet, build they're...

Re: Differences between Watters and Richardson???
I really liked Richo's message about how he needed to go back to a very basic formulae after having such a high turnover of players in the last 2-3 season's. He;s practiaclly spelled out that there wont be bells and whistles...no 'tactical' funky stuff...its about getting all players on the list to ...
