Re: Finey and our Fitness

Spert,

I think Armo and Steven may suffer, along with the team, of not having more midfielders that can rotate through the centre.

Re: Finey and our Fitness

Seems to me something is miss. My theory is that everyone has pretty much the same fitness levels but the good sides play in bursts They switch on and go hard for 10 mins or so and then sometimes they slow down ms take a breather for 5 or 10 mins. The commentators call this tempo footy. But the goo...

Re: Finey and our Fitness

To be honest plugger it will be always hard to pinpoint when you are bringing in kids and have a relatively small onball brigade. Having said that so you can only judge against the opposition and in the case of both the Demons, Bulldogs and Gold Coast they have out finished us and that would point t...

Finey and our Fitness

Finey was on SEN this morning noting that our major coup of the summer was poaching a new fitness guru. Where from? The Bulldogs. Who were the worst last half team of 2012. Guess who poached him? Yep, us. Would it be a surprise then if we might have noticed that we would be one of the worst finishin...

Re: Go on defend that umpiring

Firstly, I apologise to buckets for my bad prediction before the game on Sunday. Given that the free kick count over the weekend was down I predicted that WCE would be advantaged by the umpires 18 to 12. I had the ratio right just not the numbers. Secondly, KB gives me the absolute s***s. He continu...

Just one other addition. The one metre rule for ruck contests. Does not apply to Jolly obviously. Big Mac got practically mauled prior to the contest. To many rules, to many interpretations.

Re: Adelaide vs BJ match/bitch session thread

Was BJ that much of an outside player with us? Effort under a high ball in the first quarter running back with the flight made him look slow or even worse, just not willing to put his body on the line? It definitely looked like he was told to play an outside role possibly for his ball use?

Re: St Kilda breaches interchange cap guidelines in NAB Cup

Could not believe the paper let this go. Sub standard again. But then again the HS was also saying that the Swans were without 11 of their premiership team playing. We were missing three notable players only! Roo, Lenny and Dal! My apologies to Milne, Steven, Simpkin, Schneider and Gwilt. That would...

Re: Ledger

Ledger is an absolute ball magnet, quick, great in stoppages and is a pretty decent kick. He needs to settle down with the footy and stop trying to do too much and he needs to work on his defensive game. Both of these things will come with TOG in the AFL. When he's getting one quarter on the ground...

Re: Gut feeling about our young players

Newnes is extremely highly rated by the coach. In the pre-season he talked up his leadership as 'Lenny-like' and said that they expected him to be elite in 18-24 months. He's then backed that up by playing him in 7 games. Despite the higher picked Seb Ross and Markworth only managing 1 game between...

Having said all that. leaving Saad out is a big mistake in my opinion. Has definitely earnt his stripes and continues to give us plenty, including fantastic fwd pressure. Can't believe he's not in the starting 18 Spot on SW reckons he is pretty good and the last game he showed that he is still a cl...

Schneider is a good fringe finisher. Very like Milne unfortunately and tends to beat up on the lesser lights and has the most unattractive habit of playing for free kicks at crunch times. he was terrible against the Crows...did you watch the game? Yep. I will watch it again at some stage. Yes he ha...

Re: Same old Same OLD

I think that Saad and Terry have been the X factor for us so far. To me the weak links at the moment are Milne Kosi Gram Raph Geary Schneider and unfortunately BJ If I was really looking at changes I would swap Kosi for stanley, Milne for Saad, Simpkin for gram and play him in gram's role. I would t...

Has Lyon come back for a surprise team selection? Everything that has made us a bit different this year is either now at Sandy or more than likely will be the the Sub. That is Siposs. My fear is that the Kangaroos will now be too quick for us on the weekend and in the long term that Watters has succ...

Re: Would you entertain?

I agree that he is slight of body but you would hardly say that Talia was a gorilla. I also agree that Stanley is being groomed as a replacement as is Sippo, you can tell by the change in sippos body shape, IMO, that he is being seen as a strong bodied full forward.

We are getting seriously towelled up when we play big forwards. Would you entertain Stanley playing as a Backman when he comes back? Serious height, quick, talia showed last night that a tall quick Backman is gold.

Re: Gram

Gram has never been the heroic player but his actions when it comes to the hard ball are now insipid. And if I here one more commentator say how good a kick for goal he is I'll kick the Telly. Simpkin deserves a game way before gram now days.
