Re: Jack Sinclair

That's not entirely true. In Y11 he was overlooked by his TAC team Oakleigh, same old story that they were looking for tall athletes and the stocky small fwd didn't appeal. Similar story to Toby McLean. He got disheartened and decided to concentrate on cricket. He didn't start with Oakleigh as an 1...

Re: Jeff Gartlett

I think it matters more if the error in spelling was a mistake and not just a typo. If its a typo then its probably excusable. But, I think a deliberate misspelling should nullify any actual football content of the comment and make void the rationale of the commentator. For arguements sake and argu...

Re: Jack Sinclair

Absolutely lethal around goal.. The fact he slipped to the rookie draft really makes you question if recruiters overthink things sometimes.. A pure footballer with brilliant skills.. Look back at that draft, he is top 20 easily right now and will push top 10 as his career unfolds in what was a very...

Re: Jack Sinclair

Its an awesome problem to have and competition to improve is immense. The coaching staff have controlled it well. Lonie Minch Sinclair Billings Acres Gresham Templeton on the verge, all been given a decent chance and all producing hope and enthusiasm as a minimum. Then you have Savage, Mav, Dunstan,...

Re: Jack Sinclair

Sinclair is class. He has incredible balance and awareness. He is seldom rushed in getting the ball in a way that he 'picks his moment.'. He is a very versatile small who holds his feet, has a strong body, has good defensive skills and whip crack decision making and he kicks goals. In a tall forward...

Re: April 17, 1993 @ Vic Park - Who was there?

I was there. Sort of. 23 and very drunk. Was with my dad, his mate Alby Smedts and 2 of my mates. Got into a fight cause 2 ferals were harassing old Alby as he walked out singing our song. We had a push and shove and then dad turned up in the car. As we got in it 5 or 6 more ferals chased us down th...

Re: Coaches Votes 2016

Geez. This is a bit silly. Gray got 10/30 and was in a league of his own and clearly a major contributor to the win. Of the next 20 votes we got 8. Pretty much on the ball as I see it. If we didnt fade out we would have got a few more.

Surely there arent many A graders who haven't played 100 games. In fact it should be a prerequisite. Lets be rational and worry about this in 60 games time and the see how we do.

Re: Jarryn

With all due respect he is not able to "lock down" a damaging opposition small forward (or any forward for that matter). The reason is that the ball is put to the advantage of forwards - and Geary is limited to standing the mark when he catches up. We need lightning quick defenders able t...

Re: It's only the pre-season BUT......

The ground was our best target. Received about 30 handballs and 40 kicks. Covered a lot of space too and was always running past looking to provide run. Jarryn Geary and the ground are developing an impressive partnership and the ground seems to be on the end of most of Jarryn's disposals.

Re: Riewoldt

If he plays higher up the field as they keep saying, I don't think that really suits him. He doesn't turn well, he's got poor lateral movement because of his knees, doesn't deal with ground ball well. He really telegraphs where he kicks because he's so slow getting the ball to his boot. He'll be a ...

Re: 'The Right stuff'- Richo on Freeman

Its a courageous approach. A genuine risk. This lad must train the house down and is obviously doing impressive work and at the same time he sounds like he could go down at anytime. One thing for sure. If he plays 50-70 games without a major set back they would wanna be the best first 50 games ever ...

Re: Can We Win More Than Six Games in 2016?

I find that if you take away the number of wins and focus on the probability of Billings, Dunstan, McCartin, Goddard, Newnes, Ross, Acres, Lee, Weller, Sinclair, Lonie and even Gresham improving on what they did last year things look a lot brighter. I dont care how many we win for the year. I wanna ...

Re: 2016 SPONSORHIP GROUP

A couple of people wanted to be a part of it after we had the original 100 shares pledged. I figured it would be better to have more money than to come up short. We'll still be short of what was required to sponsor a senior player, but I'll just forward the extra money to the club and hopefully som...

I'd like to draw a line under this soon. We still have two posters that haven't followed through on their commitments. I'm not out of pocket, I've collected $60 more than we needed but I was going to send the excess to the club and hope they would provide an extra ticket or some trinket that we can...

I've now collected $1,640 and I sent $2,000 to the club last night. I see Harley Bennell was elite at Freo but didnt make the grade at GCS. No wonder they wanted him so bad. You should see his CD stats at training. Re: Saints no elite players (Champion Data)

Armo and Jack Steven may not be elite to your eyes, but they are near enough for me. Each received 12 Brownlow votes this year. They were our two best players for 2015. I am hoping Jack Billing challenges them this season or next. I cant see anyone else at the club that may be elite. I never unders...
