Re: Saints Academy Zone - AFL Proposal
This seems like more of a PR exercise than the development of talent. Talent finds development no matter where it is zoned. Influencing the player to desire to be link to your brand is the key. Be patient. We are still developing our current list let alone our future ones. We missed the boat in our ...

Re: 2016 SPONSORHIP GROUP
$1160 received. There are still 9 posters that haven't responded to the PMs representing about $660 worth of pledges. The money is due to the club at the end of next week and I'm no Mr Magic. I'm prepared to cover some contributions if I know they are coming but I don't want to be out of pocket and...

Re: Rookie upgrade via Carlisle ban
I really like the look of Coughlan. I think he is the obvious choice. Give the kid a go. O'kearney for the same reason but more suited to replace a mid. Would love to see these two blooded early.

Re: Ruck Training
Our 2 best ruckman are Longer and Holmes. Of our ruckman at present, Hickey is our best follower, our best tall forward/ruck and the most natural footballer. I predict that if we do make a Grand final in the next 3 years only one of Hickey or Longer will be in that squad. I hope that when Roo retire...

Re: Carlisle ban?
Can anyone tell me a better way to solve the defensive tall problem other than the risk we took with Carlisle. We had pick 5 not pick 1. We had pick 1 2014 and took a tall forward who hasnt really got going yet. I wonder who will be better quicker. We werent going to develop a player of Carlisles st...

Re: Carlisle's extra weekend fitness
If he did it without approval there would have been a completely different headline. I think its great that he could come out of nowhere and make 146 not out. Shows he is focused, has good timing and excellent concentration. He is likely very fit too. I hope he has a smashing year.

Inside mail on White is he ultra competitive and a very hard worker. Will develop into a quality outside mid who is a naturally gifted intercept marker and rebounding running back who reads the play exceptionally well and has elite power and speed. A natural footballer with a penetrating left foot. ...

Re: Where do you see our improvement in 2016?
Effective disposal was a strength in 2015. We ranked well but didn't get enough of the ball. I would expect that the efficiency will improve dramatically again this year. A big factor. Clearances and Contested Possession must improve. 10% on each would be expected, 20% ideal.. Look to DMac, Newnes, ...

In my most optimistic opinion Carlisle will need the first 2 rounds in the VFL to get up to scratch and then will be ready to go in round 3 I reckon.Bunk_Moreland wrote:Oh no, comments that Carlisle is "not quite ready" from the club.
OMG. what have we done? A bloke on the 9th of Nov is not quite ready.

Re: Union told Jake Carlisle's manager not to tell Saints
Hahaha! This all pretty laughable. Essendon aren't to blame and can't be blamed. If you believe everything you read in this thread Carlisle has no brains, a drug addiction and can barely tie his shoe laces but also has a genius evil streak which concocted this whole plot to get the most he could fro...

Re: Pick 14
Oliver is another inside mid isn't he? We have plenty of them already. I know the highlights can be misleading (by emphasising the positives) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5eGZepg0EM But, anyway - going by what I see - he's elusive, finds and creates space, goes for a run whenever the opportun...

Re: Carlisle "scandal"
The fact that there is a 3 strike policy at all is testimony that illicit drug use is a huge problem in the AFL. In terms of revenue the AFL is a pixel in the shadow of the illicit drug industry. I believe lots of players are doing it. I have played amateur footy with at least 50 guys who have done ...

Re: Pick 14
Would be stunned if we picked Rioli at 14. Plenty of better players will be available at that pick, he has talent but would not think he is a top twenty pick. My nephew played at the Rebels this year and Rioli was not the standout. Player to watch for next year is Jarrod Berry he can seriously play...

Re: Pick 14
I like Oliver from the clips I've seen posted on BigFooty. He really just makes things happen. With AFL training he'll bulk up and reduce his skin folds. Physically he will only get better, faster, stronger etc. I tend to agree. In his own age group he is a ball winner and can apply good physical p...

Oliver has something about him. His attack and skill are good and he is a goal kicker. I think he would push for selection in his first year.

Ok. You did something you know you shouldn't have. As I did less than a decade ago. You showed your mate and then someone got the picture and now the whole world has seen it. In effect, same thing happened to me. Although I didn't take a selfie and told the press I wasn't aware the photo existed, i...

You can still be wonderful role model, leader and a legend of this club. Geez boy you could even be part of a premiership tea...
