Re: Positives
McCartin had an average draft year by number 1 pick standards. He looked better as an underager tbh. Kicked 6 in a game & crunched Dom Sheed like a freight train busting Dom's shoulder. It was pretty much consensus among recruiters that Petracca was pick 1. I recall an arrival stating all but 2...

I reckon if you were not livid with that performance you're not a REAL supporter....or lack any form of emotional attachment to the StK FC.

Re: McCartin - The biggest recruiting disaster of all time
If he can become a Taylor Walker type forward we've done well & he's worth the pick 1 investment. Early prediction is he's a 50-60 goal forward that will need quite a bit of support to make our forward line dangerous. Nothing wrong with that. Fingers crossed.

Re: We currently sit dead last on the ladder
Lol Probabilty says sooner or later we will take the best mid :o Its going to be a long season, a long frustrating one and im sure we will get an early first and second round pick,. By the end of this year some tough decisions are going to have to be made. Carlisle and goddard are obviously for dem...

Re: We currently sit dead last on the ladder
Jesus calm down - we've played two top teams in the first two rounds. We won't finish bottom. We'll finish above Blues, Dons, Brissie and might sneak ahead of one or two more. And thats exactly where we should finish with our squad. WE over achieved last year and got some respect and teams are now ...

Re: Are we playing too many oldies?
Dempster & Fisher have lost a few yards. Fisher in particular has become a scrounger of a defender, I'm unsure how he doesn't give away more free kicks. He's always holding onto his opponent. Both in their last year. Gilbert likely gets another go next year. Joey goes again. Roo is on his own te...

We currently sit dead last on the ladder
We are bottom yet again with a percentage of 60, slightly better chance than slim of remaining there & a very good chance of finishing at least bottom 4. Richo took over a club with massive list issues & gun players coming towards their retirement. In his first year we finished with the wood...

Excellent prospect however doesn't consistently impact games. Needs to play in the back half to find more ball. Would help us from turning over the footy coming out of defence too.

Re: McCartin - The biggest recruiting disaster of all time
Our recruiters themselves may be the recruiting disaster. Doubling up, even quadrupling up on the same type of midfielders (and do we need 4 ruckmen?), with no sense of team balance. I think you're onto something. I've got NFI why we didn't pick Darcy Tucker with our first pick we got in the Carlis...

Re: McCartin - The biggest recruiting disaster of all time
Imagine being a lead up forward at StK for 300 games... Now that's an effort On Paddy He hasn't shown an elite attribute as yet, he is slow and has little endurance. But he looks a competitor in the air, and is sometimes clever. Let's hope Petracca does not turn out a matchwinner. Judd, Bartel, Ste...

Re: Team v dogs
Gresh and Eli were probably the lucky selections for round 1, and Sinclair the unlucky one. Like most on here I'm surprised Acres got dropped, but not surprised to see Sinclair back. As for Dunstan, I was at the game last week and actually took note where he lined up - almost every stoppage or cent...

No ones doubting you cant get over them All im saying is they can be a complete bastard to get over, zure some have done so and well, others have not. It was just a general comment not really directed at you. We just need to be patient & understand the club is taking the longterm view of Freema...

Re: Freeman update
Many players with chronic hamstring injuries overcome them. Rob Harvey had awful issues early in his career. Hamish Hartlett a more recent example. The only thing we need to worry about is that the club is doing everything right to ensure his longterm health is the priority.

He's a slow burn. Give him another two years to build his fitness & he'll play permanently in the guts. Absolute ball magnet. I don't like him this year for the rising star tho. Oliver, Weitering or Mills.
