Re: Fortius Quo Fidelius Strength through Loyalty
I'm in it for the long haul, of course. Richo, are you capable of positive/pleasing change ?

Re: Can anyone remember a more bleak outlook than now ?
Here's a conundrum: CEO is reported in AGE yesterday as saying performances are unacceptable but there is no second guessing Richo's extension as he will be a better coach for it. Does that imply unacceptable performances will be accepted until end 2020 as a professional development exercise or poss...

Well all the best Daniel. Be great if you could bring that courage to the seniors but whatever is best for you young man. The club needs to give you every support.

Re: Saints v Demons - Round 7
Two big forwards to take some of the defence focus off Paddy. Double team Hogan. Geary to run through Oliver early. Try not to fumble. Confidence will come because it can only go up - nothing to lose anymore - have fun, take out the driver no laying up; chaos ball is better than a straight turnover....

Re: Saints v Demons - Round 7
Gawn and Hogan. The selectors and coaches have to come up with a plan. Ok to let Gawn have shots straight in front 30 out but Hogan would probably nail his.

The other interesting stat* was elevation of < = to Sea level was achieved; the high float hospital style was matched by the straight to your toe style. Hard to anticipate, gets the opposition confused.

Ok we will go with that; Webster to wing? Membrey HF, Marshall or second ruck FP. White?

Re: Coach cans his side
Absolutely I totally agree, Blight is a pompous knob. However I don't agree with G.Lyon that Carlton has far more talent. We have the sufficient talent to finish close to the eight with a reasonable draw and a common hymn book. Team selection is, as wiser heads here have noted, totally naïve if not ...

Re: A rift among the coaching staff?
Richo said he was confused and couldn't remember and that Kingo couldn't remember either. That possibly explains a few things. Of course he was mis-speaking but he can't admit what happened. He did remember Tim missing "that" goal but didn't scold him, he did however say well done when his...

Re: Can anyone remember a more bleak outlook than now ?
In the 80s I don't think there was a salary cap, draft and other equalisation measures. Most of the leading clubs of the time cheated any payment and recruitment rules in place, so its difficult to compare with that period, yes? I seem to remember that even when getting regularly beaten we had playe...

North Korean won maybe. There are plenty to offload before those three I would think, they once were footballers.

Re: Can anyone remember a more bleak outlook than now ?
During the "school girl" debacle and Ross Lyon's contract fiasco. We do a good line in bleak. The current bleakness for me isn't so much we are losing, I'm immune to that, but that the club through spokesman Richardson seems in Black Knight style denial "...come back its only a flesh ...

Re: Saints still in finals hunt!
Which teams now in the eight are going to move down for us, which of the fifteen above us actually - North maybe. Most will win another two or three games so we are out for the count - September is free. Can only blood new players, stress composure and disposal skills now, drop anyone who makes thre...

What was the line up for the third quarter of the JLT pre season game. Melbourne couldn't handle that one.

Re: In afl there’s only one real type of pressure
I think AR is under scoreboard pressure. One of the few thing left from this season is to watch how he copes. Starting to looked frayed? Hope he becomes proactive/insightful and stops being a commentator of the obvious. I wish him well and a good family support network.

Re: anyone been at training...tony?
So players in charge? Is Newnes defacto captain? Game reviews actually avoid any individual criticism? Is it physically possible to train for AFL so that the mass swarming approach can not inevitably cause group fatigue fade outs in the last quarters of an AFL game - Carlton might just use the rope ...

Oh Man Coach's Message
1) If you did not watch or listen to the match I told the players we were in the game for three quarters but foot skills were crap. They took this insight on board and seemed somewhat surprised. But it is my role to state the obvious as it may otherwise escape a professional footballer. Again we wer...

Re: 36 goals, 65 behinds
Definition of insanity: playing Gresham, Membrey, Newnes, Savage, Sinclair and Gilbert in the same side over and over again but also expecting to kick a winning score or win more than 3 games a season. If chaps like Marshall, Battle, Rice, Austin and Clark are not better then its overall more pitifu...

How about a payday loan to buy 15 goals. if the club then backs itself at $3 it can probably get 4 points and pay off the loan and start again.

Someone who when given two options picks the best one more than 20% of the time. A new novelty bet is when will Jack hit a forward lace out, all up did he mean it. A spell in the VFL might be good for him as well as the team because he is just out of form/confidence. I suspect he will not play; if h...

Irrelevant irony - how many goals were lost because Nick had countless passes to him at perfect yorker length. Now he has retired the passes are too high. Mercy.

How many Saints members are there in greater Melbourne available Saturday 1.45pm ? vs GWS how many members in Western Sydney/Canberra will realistically come down. 15k attendance is ok % wise. Win more and play big member clubs the attendance figure will rise. Other than the rubbish of weeks 2,3 &am...
