Didn't Pelchen push Ross Lyon over the edge and recruit Tom Lee. Credibility?

Who said we (over) rate them. Don't we just hope there is untapped potential waiting to be released. Waiting....

Re: Kicking for Goal - Hypothetical (life and death situatio
So Gresh, Billings and Bruce could reasonably become 50+ goal a yearers. + Marshall Battle - all looks good so Jake C its still starring in the defence 2018 for u. I feel good do do do do do. Although I sort of did in March 2017 as well but it is our time, soon.

Yes yes sorry sometimes I forget the romance - of course you are right. I resolve to lighten up. Thanks for the heads up. Go Sainters in whatever vehicle we travel. I choose to believe the eighth cylinder is about to fire. Thanks again Wellard.

Re: Changes. Who comes in?
Not being argumentative, but why would Acres be considered elite. I understand the line of thought that any good player given consistent selection and roles can develop better than otherwise but I wonder if Blake is like that horse that looks good in the yard occasionally comes home hard but always ...

Re: Scott Watters - share your stories!
I was in Wellington for the first NZ match. At the Civic reception SW assured us that the new players Saunders, Murdoch and Ross were the future of the Club. One of three's not bad. SW did not mix with the proletariat supporters and could have been considered aloof if Caroline Wilson wasn't there, s...

Re: Changes. Who comes in?
Did superficial research on B.Acres (West Australian June 2017) " have just bought a house in Perth and that's where my family is....." Contracted to 2018. Was trying to get a feel for how clever he is - there was a para on milking Nick for info incl. "poring over tapes" so the o...

Ok what will he say about Lyon's leaving. (Yes I know the book will be a must read and I'll be getting one of the first off the presses, but I'd love to know how he saw it and Lyon's legacy, if there was one).

Re: Alan Richardson's contract in 2018
Maybe not 2 years but as he is contracted in 2018, +2019 would send a signal just as leaving him hanging would. I often wonder if gifted but undisciplined players think they can just outwait a coach or white ant. Tails wagging Saints is not healthy. Of course to leave it at just 2018 means he would ...

Re: Alan Richardson's contract in 2018
True, true (give or take a Rance). I expect AR to have marked a few players* cards for 2018 and will have special programs for Messers Acres and Gresham covering topics like decision making, scoring opportunities are rare gifts, and make tackles stick and/or smart a wee bit (and neat hair will not g...

Re: Billy Cost Us The Game
Everyone would have been exhausted. That makes for poor judgment, mind willing but body a bit slow . Ryder and Gray are exceptional players, the ball bounced truly. Plenty of other 1%ers earlier cost more than 2 points but that last minute was like watching the proverbial slow train wreck. Weller al...

Thanks all for articulating what I'd like to have said. Booking flights now to see his last game. Privilege to follow the Team he plays for. Lucky Saints were able to recruit and keep him. Some end of eras are quite emotional.

Re: A well coached team
Just looked at the post match presser and got the impression Richo is now particularly cross - as if he has given certain players ( & coaches) a lot of support and suddenly realised he hasn't/won't/can't be repaid and has to rethink structures. (Yes I am a mind reader). Gresh can no longer safel...

Re: Disappointig but we will learn
No you are not. Richo obviously understands it was potentially a beginning of the end of career result but can't bring himself to be specific or empathise with supporters' need to know specifics e.g. how come most dangerous Port player was on his own and had time to look around - let alone observati...

Re: A well coached team
Ditto what Sainterman wrote. Re IQ: how about Steele and Gresham playing on 45 degrees west to pressure from a free to Membrey easily within range. I'd drop Steele just for that, and Weller for behaving like a puppy at a sheep dog trial; Lonie is too small which isn't his fault. If we can all see it...

Re: WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?
You know that was a game we should have won against all odds; still have not won in Adelaide and it was down to poor conversion rate and not being able to defend the Port player most likely to kick a goal from a stoppage. I realise I am gutted and in the light of day will appreciate the effort which...

Re: Team v Port
I did too - dropping him was obviously a weather decision. Good conditions for smalls. Gresham had three important kicks before half time and I'm looking to him to.... my wife gets cross with my sarcasm, rightly so. But I so want us to win.

Rock Paper Sinclair
Saints flog Hawks; Sydney flog Saints; Hawks beat Sydney - 5 goal week-is-a-long time Sinclair looks like a clod, McAvoy looks like a star. Dear Forum why is this. I ask youse because I don't think any of the Saints' coaching panel has a clue. Obviously only a chosen few like A. Clarkson would reall...

Re: Team v Port
Emergencies are Hickey, Long & McKenzie so coaches selectors rank him above those. Long and DMc didn't set the world on fire so perhaps JL is a symptom of a severe lack of depth, which speaks to recruitment.

Re: Team v Port
Bookies are impressed, Saints are now @ $6 in a theoretically 2 horse race. If it is wet and windy the price might go out to $10 and there will be much physical hurt in those conditions (do we have an enforcer?). Can't afford to fumble or give a ton of turnovers. Upside - cannot possibly draw two ga...

Re: Team v Port
Remember James Gwilt playing one of his first (the first?) games in Adelaide and kicking a couple of goals and playing pretty damn well. Brandon White is same height but it seems 14kg lighter. Uncannily he comes from Dandenong which few realise is the most southern province of PNG and both are left ...

Re: Goodbye 2017
Superman plays for the Cats according to media but reportedly occasionally dives when tackled/kyptonited so would be vulnerable. Lone ranger plays for Crows (Tonto is forward pocket). Winning 4 of the last games and several finals without a super hero is a hard but not unreasonable ask from the loya...
