Re: Ben Long

Also important to recognise he is only 23. 6 to 10 years of footy left in him. Currently you back him 1 on 1 vs any opponent, know he is going to bring a bit of fear to the oppo and he has the capabilities to do the odd freakish thing. Sounds like a great young option who is probably picked somewher...

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?

A minor calf strain isn't the end of the world. If it was his hammy id be worried.

Agree with suggestion above that resting in certain games would seem a good strategy.

Re: Dangerous gun midfielders or onballers

Dal Santo and BJ both did well when forward.

Clarke before injuries.

They however spent very little time forward due to the quality of our forwards in that time, both tall and small.

Re: Big Fish No 2

Who is TT Tom Terrific. Sorry. It's that Italian bloke from Steak and Kidney. Tim Taranto His AFL stats aren't all that impressive This year I agree. Last year as a 21 year old though he averaged nearly 30 touches a game and 5 clearances. For reference Steele averaged 5 clearances a game this year....

Re: Crouch

The small forward value argument aside our midfield hasn't been deep enough for a long time.

I do think if we're going to recruit another one after crouch though they need to be able to play forward or should be younger than 26.

We got beaten by inside bulls.

Crouch is an inside bull.

Parfitt

With Cameron going to Geelong it should be easier to pull players out of there. Parfitt is 22, progressed to the midfield over the last two years and can kick goals. Importantly is out of contract (I think) so whilst we might have to trade we wouldn't have to give up the world. Esava Ratugolea worth...

Re: What players are we likely to get in the trade

We need miss more than anything. Crouch for now and Caldwell for the future would do me. Our first as a straight swap should be enough for Caldwell. Wouldn't leave much to take to the draft though. This is my thoughts too. Then you can trade around the edges. Savage, Lonie and co for 2nd and 3rd ro...

Re: What players are we likely to get in the trade

No chance of us trading billings. 25 year old best 22 player with scope to be a top 10 player who did not have a bad season. Not what many expected or hoped for but not disgraceful by any means. Gresham even less chance of being traded. Savage, Lonie, Hind, McKenzie, Ross, Dunstan, Webster, Parker, ...

Re: Two mids and a forward.

What do Freo want for Blake Acres? Will they take Hill?   8-) Hahaha. Hill will get better. Disappointing overall this year but back in the decision in the long run. Think his recruitment negatively impacted billings too who will also improve next year. Easy to forget billings is...

Two mids and a forward.

Rats last night spoke about brining in more midfield support and a foward. Saints have been rumoured to be into Caldwell, Higgins and Ben Brown. First and last one gettable Higgins will probably go to the Geelong retirement factory. Let's assume for a second we land all three what does the saints be...

1 extra hit out to nak. 1 extra goal to marshall.

Nak was good and got coaches votes from memory but marshall held his own and a touch up is probably a bit harsh.

In battle, savage and hind
Out long carlisle ryder

If battle doesn't come up marsh comes in.

Phillips could be chosen ahead of Hind if they don't want too many small forwards with billings going forward for periods.

Reall liked the idear of getting him 2 years back, not too sure now I’m with you. I’d prefer not to take a risk on a guy his age. There’s quite a few getting excited at seeing the Shaun Higgins version from 2 or 3 years ago running around in the rw&b. The problem is that he turns 33 before next ...

Re: Saints looking at Shaun Higgins

Would seriously add where we are lacking. Anyone who thinks we have enough depth in our midfield has rocks in their head and should go back and watch the west coast, Collingwood or Geelong games. Beyond that his silk is what we need more of. Seems like he could play on ball for two years and then w...
