Re: Time to get ruthless
Ross, Savage, Dunstan, Webster, Carlisle should have some trade value with Geary offered a dignified exit would be the first calls I'd be making. Keeping Billings. Keeping Skunk.

Re: Bulldogs Chasing Lonie
3rd round pick would be a waste of a trade. We need to strike while the iron's hot (i.e. Ryder, Hanners & Hill) and win one in the next year or so. Keep Lonie, if for no other reason that depth, unless he can unlock someone worth walking through the door. And in terms of small forwards, I still ...

Re: There’s a pigheadedness about Ratten I don’t like
Clearly crying out for another marking tall back like Carlisle... We looked our best with him and Howard in the backline. Also gave us some flexibility with Battle Small Forward’agetton - it has been a dismal strategy all year and we’ve doubled down yet again. Lonie, Butler, Kent and Hind playing t...

Re: ins and outs
I have 4 in my sights after that performance outs Geary dont care if he is the capt poor again Hind didnt notice him at all Kent same as Hind cannot afford players who contribute little King I know our delivery didnt help but did get his hands to the ball at times couldnt hold em,may need a break,b...

In. Seb, Jones and Ryder. OUT. Gears, Kent and unfortunately Hind. Need Geary for defensive forward on Saad, Got matchup wrong last night he if good on the smaller rebound players - Johannison, Dogherty, but intercept markers too small. Ins : agree with Out: Paton, Hind, Marshall (looked sore ) 6 d...

Re: Let's Be Honest
If Battle, Wilkie, Roberton, and Howard are all playing then a fit Carlisle would be an excellent replacement for Bruce. When fully fit, Carlisle is a much better player than Bruce so perhaps our forward's aren't in such bad shape after all? I think the plan is to have Marshall/Ryder replace Bruce ...

Reminds me off Leigh Fisher. All the right tricks on the surface of it, and highly regarded talent-wise, but of no particular value.

Re: Questions re the existing players
Why is our #1 ruckman, and RU best and fairest not playing in the ruck? I wouldn’t have recruited Ryder full stop. Bruce gone Ryder recruited, Ryder can’t play Key Forward so it’s my assumption he will play ruck and Marshall forward as much as I disagree with it. Disagree. Some of Ryder's forward c...

Re: Best 22 - round 1 2020
True, Coffield needs to find consistent poise and finish and get more of it. He also needs to use his bulk a lot more. For me, Geary hasn't been among our best for a couple years. He can't kick the ball. I see Paton as a like-for-like replacement; I'd have McKenzie above him for the same role. And J...

Re: Questions re the existing players
Lonie will have to play well to hold his spot, but on current form is ahead of all other small forwards (Gresham aside, who is a mid/fwd) My order on last years output would be Lonie, Kent, Hind, Parker, Long, Butler, Young With Gresham rotating That order could easily change with form Billings and...

Trigger clauses
Genuine question. A trigger clause for a contract extension, I assume, is going to be something like no. of games played, internal performance votes, am I missing something else? So.... in that case..... if you don't want to trigger an extension, surely a club can control that. Example: Carlisle. Th...

Re: King signs at GC = Bruce stays ?
I still see a role for J Bruce. Ryder rucks, Marshall roams, Bruce takes the 2nd forward, King takes the 1st, leaving the 3rd for Members. King is still young and will need that protection. So either Marshall or Ryder are permanently sitting in the forward line, or Members still has the 2nd defender.

Re: King signs at GC = Bruce stays ?
Acknowledging that my assessments of what players bring to the table differs significantly from the assessments of others on here, I venture that Marshall as a key forward will be a turning point with his skill set and athleticism Ryder will ruck with occasional support from Marshall - and we still...

Re: King signs at GC = Bruce stays ?
A contract is a guarantee. Ben King is not off the table at all. Manager advised him to extend for the financial guarantee. He can still be traded. 100% agree. At the end of next season Ben King will be just as available as ever. All the new contract does is give him a big pay rise and Gold Coast g...

adding to this we could complicate it by proposing Menenggola to Freo; Steven to Geelong for NIL (and we don't pay his salary)... satisfying Freo's needs even more... Be great to see Carlisle find a new home also for a pick next year.
