Re: Would a merger or relocation be such a bad thing

Fitzroy had a fair side when Quinlan was kicking goals and Matty Rendell was leading their rucks But the business people who supported them were SME operators and not in the same league as the support some other Clubs enjoyed Then there was the Yarra Valley Country Club before Stamoulis baled it out

Re: Denver Grainger Barrass

The questions being why would we not retain Battle and why would we not retain Howard Yes, Battle is undersized as a KPP defender but has the competitive streak to significantly address this and with Howard is a cornerstone of a defence which basically performs to requirements None of Wilkie, Battle...

"With the immigration target at 50 Million by 2030 and 1 million a year just in Melbourne alone"

Contributed by an uneducated Far-right racist for purpose of inciting fellow Far-right racists and needs to be called out.

Re: Would a merger or relocation be such a bad thing

I agree the standard has slipped dramatically over the years - confirmed by players coming from Under 18 level in the SANFL and the WAFL playing at AFL level in their first seasons without playing at Senior SANFL or WAFL level prior to being drafted. The whole competition has been polluted by the AF...

Re: Something changed

Once upon a time there were playing Coaches - and you could cop a right royal "spray" in the first minute

These days with Runners restricted, you are absolved until a break.

Re: Changes for next week

And in regards Clark, how much time has he spent on the sidelines due to injury and recovery from injury - including this season? That he needs time in the gym to build strength and durability is uneducated nonsense of the first order. Where has he spent most of his time recovering over recent seaso...

Re: Changes for next week

It is down to who becomes available, including by performance at VFL level today. What we do know is that 27 will retain his position as a defender. Then, if (all of) Wanganeen-Milera (automatic if available), Howard (automatic if available) and Webster (position under question) return that adds 3 m...

And all that said, it will be interesting to see who lines up at Sandringham (Keeler particularly because I think he has something apart)

Re: Team v Lions

From the read on Sandringham form both Jones and Sharman were deserving of promotion Both were significant contributors to the recovery to draw the match The losses of Howard and Wanganeen-Milera will hurt - yes, I am one who does not subscribe to the descriptions of Howard on here I view him as a v...

Re: RTB finger on the pulse

My opinions of the AFL can be gleaned from my comments on this site - and I note my opinion of the AFL commenting on the King free kick is now supported by the St Kilda Coach and obviously so in my view The language in the AFL criticism of the free kick was, at best, embarrassing and at worst, well ...

Re: RTB finger on the pulse

Who says he does not?

In your engagement with King AND with Caminiti what have they confided to you that differentiates the attitude of King versus the attitude of Caminiti (or anyone else where you are privy to personal engagement with the players)?

Re: Perth-Home-Brisbane

And just to add Much of what we do in life is habit This includes going to the footy - so if you are restricted from going because the draw delivers what has been delivered this season you start to lose interest and a habit is no longer a habit And you start doing something else The crowd v GC was p...

It is not that sides based outside Melbourne travel every second week because that is their brief - including playing a Grand Final in Melbourne It is the equality of the draw between Melbourne based Clubs including game times Imagine the outcry if Collingwood had has our draw this season - and not ...

Re: RTB finger on the pulse

And as I put elsewhere, give Lyon Mark 1 access to Ablett, Scarlett and Hawkins

And give Lyon Mark 2 access to Daicos x 2 and Moore

Makes a difference, hey?

And why the AFL Competition is seriously compromised in favour of media wetting their uneducated pants

Re: RTB finger on the pulse

And in regards our attack, we have King who is how old, Caminiti who is a junior still developing and Membrey who is (just about) midfielder size King needs support, as does the 199cm Howard at the other end and Marshall, our sole ruckman With Howard down Marshall gave assistance to our height compr...

Re: RTB finger on the pulse

For all this nonsensical nonsense re Lyon:- Give him Ablett, Scarlett and Hawkins when he last coached St Kilda And give him Daicos x 2 and Moore currently The AFL has pandered to media and media romanticism by introducing Father/Son and has polluted the competition accordingly It has given signific...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns

King goes back then leads up leaving a decision for the GC defender where the objective was to leave him in no man’s land Look at the space Higgins had - and that at that precise time Henry, having marked the ball travelling around the 50 metre mark, was also in space At that precise moment we had o...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns

So, not noticing King at that time, I would assume that the GC defender was endeavouring to keep King in such a position that the GC defender could peel off to impact (either of) Henry or Higgins And King was trying to lead him away hence the GC defender impeding King’s movement by holding him In th...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns

And in that pic, look at the St Kilda number 1, the ball at the time in the hands of Henry who was free, having received the ball from Membrey who received it from Clark As far as I could make out (because my focus was on Henry and Higgins - so not King) the whistle went when Henry had uncontested p...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns

And another thing Membrey found Henry who had run the F50 line and in space The next cog was Higgins who, like Henry, had put in the effort to run forward into space and as an option for Henry IF Henry had not chosen to turn and run inside a vacant F50 himself So the options from Membrey finding Hen...
