Longy's shown poise and hardness in this game.
Great stuff.

Re: Does the Mitchell-led Hawks’ success change Clarko’s Market Value?
Ok. So I can say I've spoken directly to a current Hawks player about the Clarko situation, as he's a client of mine, and no one was sad to see the back of Clarko. From the AC to the players, everyone felt he was not interested the last few years and it was effecting the moral of the whole place. S...

Re: Caro’s arrow
Pretty easy to fire a retrospective arrow. She really is irrelevant. Worth noting we traded rucks in McEvoy, Stanley & Hickey and I think from the players selected or traded for in those deals only Hannebery remains on our list. So none currently in active service. Fair to also state all ended u...

Re: Dare Sainter of the round
Hard as a cats head is Battle, hope he can find the consistency as he can play. Undoubtedly his best game for the club. What is going on with Highmore? Is he the new Dunstan? Did he have a shocking pre-season? How is he now the 6th rated Tall, Medium/ Tall defender at the club based on R2 selection?...

Re: Richmond next week
Perhaps we play Paddy and Hayes as the sub.
If there are no injuries we tell Paddy to go hard until for a half or to mid way through the 3rd and sub him out for Hayes.
Marshall takes the bulk of the 2nd half ruck with a chop out from Hayes.

It’s a great idea if you don’t rate loyalty, leadership, durability and a very good B+ grade AFL player.SunnyErnie wrote: ↑Mon 28 Mar 2022 10:01pm a pick in the 20's for Membrey, would you take it?
I would!!! Sharman takes his spot and we use the pick on a mid.
Thoughts???

Re: Surprising news. Hannas injured.
Quite seriously the club should only make an announcement on Hannebery when he is going to play, there would be much less frequent updates and ridicule. Surely even now the Hannebery die hard St Kilda faithful will concede this has been nothing but an unmitigated disaster of a trade/ recruitment. Sw...

Re: The last time our midfield was at full strength
I classify our starting midfield (including ruck men) as follows Marshall Ryder Steele Gresham Jones Ross Really interesting post cwrcyn. Firstly we have to add Crouch IMO. That is a bottom 6 competition midfield at full strength. The only area that midfield would be elite is the rucks if both were...

Re: Are we closer to…
The root cause of the problem seems simple to me: Nettlefold, Watters and Pelchen traded away what remained of our best talent after Lyon left, and recruited rubbish in return. We have never fully recovered from that. Picking McCartin over Petracca also didn't help the situation. In recent years, t...

Re: Should Geary be considered for selection?
Only if it was a choice between him and Kent. I admire Geary as a bloke who squeezed every ounce of his ability and was as courageous as any player in the competition. But save for one good game opposed to Daniel two years ago, Gears looked slow and that the game had well and truly passed him by. t...

Re: Ratten would be a fool to ever play Kent again!
Kent was atrocious but not sure why Dan Butler gets a pass. He keeps going at this rate I highly doubt he will get another contract. Good question, but watching live it's the workrate difference for mine. Kent does not pressure, chase or push up and back nearly as hard as Butler does. Lonie must sh...

Re: Ratten would be a fool to ever play Kent again!
Of course one player is not to blame. However Kent is not AFL standard and has never been more than a fringe player or back up in teams that have largely been middle to bottom teams. Whilst Kent is best 22 we will never be more than middle of the road. He’s given better service than I thought he wou...

Re: Jack Hayes in running for a spot in round 1 team
He played for the “probables” in match sim and drills this morning. Pretty much everyone you would expect was there but there weren’t 22 of them. “Possibles” included Owens, Windhager, Sharman, Joyce, Campbell, Long, Byrnes, Bytel, Connolly, Geary, Highmore, Kent, Lienert, NWM. Maybe three of those...

Re: Are Saints the 'Moneyball' Team?
No, I don’t think the concept of Moneyball includes paying a kings ransom in draft picks and a pile of cash for a player like Brad Hill not to mention Hannebery.
I can see the similarities if you look at mature age recruiting from SANFL and players such as Paddy Ryder.
But overall no.

After yesterdays scratch match it seems Jack Hayes is a lock to play the 3rd tall back up ruck role. What a great achievement for a guy AFL recruiters found every reason to overlook for years. I hope he can do himself proud and snag a few goals in the coming weeks until Paddy returns. It’s likely t...

She had a nice set of choppers That she did :D I'd often wondered if the Captain was in fact a real captain or more of the Flight Centre Guy style captain. According to Wiki, other than just 70's pop with a cringe-worthy image, it turns out Daryl Dragon (no relation to the Hunter bros) was in fact ...
