Re: Something changed
Our Defenders were to small Hipwood over 200cm Danaher over 200cm Battle 193 cm and cammaniti 196cm or cordy 195cm Ari 194cm no wonder they out marked us. We need to go to the draft and get a big 200cm defender and trade for one as well not easy but its got to be done. Great move to bring in Campbe...

Re: Changes for next week
Prefer Stocker ahead of Bonner.
Can't find a role for Zac Jones anymore.
Hope Shoenmaker stays in the team.
Wanganeen needs to come back.
Hopefully Phillipou finds his way back.
Campbell was good, but I'd like to give Heath a crack.
Cordy is a warrior, but again I'd rather develop a younger guy.

Re: Momentum killers
The free against Marshall was technically correct because unfortunately RoMa didn't contest. RoMa didn't make an attempt to mark it himself You can't look at your opponent, and make it obvious to the umpire that you're blocking them and then you don't even try to mark it yourself It's not illegal t...

Something changed
Our game plan against Brisbane, especially after quarter time just seemed different. Was there a difference, and if so how do the Saintsational experts explain this difference? We had Campbell in the Ruck, and we won a lot of clearances, certainly a lot more that usual, but I'm not so sure that was ...

German heritage
It was great to see Arie Shoenmaker's debut. Tall, blond and with German name.
It got me thinking which other players we've had with German ancestors.
Carl Ditterich and Nick Riewoldt immediately spring to mind, also tall and blond.
Stewie Leowe, Adam Schnieder, Troy Schwartz .. any others?

Re: Schoenmaker
Loved the Schoenmaker game. There's something about his game that makes me think he may end up in the traditional Centre half forward role. Think of Stewart Leowe, not as good overhead (but still good), and a penetrating kick. They say Shoenmaker lacks a bit on the defensive side. Oh well, lets play...

Re: Changes for next week
Too many inconsistent efforts last night. Depending on availability Out - Clark, Ross, Jones In- NWM, Sharman, Garcia Henry to the midfield, Steele to the forward half Hunter Clark (with no e)? Personally, I feel he's added a bit of (much needed) class to our midfield. There's no way I'd drop him.

Re: Stolen by corrupt umpiring again
Reckon we were totally ripped off tonight.
Each time we were within striking distance, the umpire pulled a bulls*** momentum killer of a decision.
Corrupt, most likely. Perhaps just part of the script, a bit like the Washington Generals.

Re: ..at the risk of positivity ..
The only reason you would move him on is if you had an equally tall, agile forward who's ready to blossom. Enter the Hammer! And he's got some peacock about him which is what you want in a key forward, he's got the ole Dermie head bobble thing going on. Hey Vortex, if you really think Caminitti is ...

Saints have (almost) a full list of players ..
We have a huge batch of home games ..
The majority of 'good teams' have got the heebie-geebies and lots of injuries ..
And I still reckon we've got a better list than last year ..

Re: Darcy Wilson
Wilson does not even play a remotely similar position or in a similar fashion to Baldock Darcy is a wingman/high half forward with a slender build, elite runner Baldock was powerful and strong and a great ball handler Baldock came to StK at 24yo - having already Captained Tasmania and been Captain ...

Re: Darcy Wilson
Darcy Wilson is the new Darrel Baldock... There are a couple of similarities. First, he has great skill on both sides - not only in kicking but in handball. That was something back in the 50s and 60s displayed by triple Brownlow Medallists. After watching the replay of yesterday's game, I gave him ...

........... Our players look and act like they’re carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders. Maybe it’s the weight of expectation. I’m sure that’s been drummed into them. No premiership for 68 years etc etc.........

Re: Changes for Gold Coast
It would be great to reward Heath if he was that good. If Max King is injured, perhaps Marshall & Heath can rotate between Ruck & Forward, not likely to be much worse that Max's recent form. It would be fantastic if we could find a 2nd ruck who can play forward. Keeler may be another option....

Re: Kane Cork Sucker
Well, I completely agree with Kane Cornes. The Ross Lyon 'blueprint' game plan is designed to suck the life-blood out of talented footballers. I'd imagine Max has a lot of team mates who'd prefer to be playing for a team with a less taxing, and more positive game plan. The boys just want to play foo...

Re: Team for Saturday
I’d rather play Crouch than Steele. I've seen so many similar comments. I'm still not happy with what I witnessed from our Captain last Sunday. I can only imagine its been tense between Coach and Captain this week. If you weren’t at the ground on Sunday - it’s hard to put into words. There was a lo...

Re: RoMa in the ruck
Which would you prefer? The opposition ruckman hacks the ball 40 meters in their direction to a contest .. or .. Marshall hacks the ball 40 meters in our direction to a contest? With the Marshall scenario, the ball is 80 meters closer to our goal, and it's to a contest. So the question should be, ho...

Re: Zebras v Tigers
Only watched the 2nd half, a lot to like from a Saints perspective.
Garcia looks all class, hard to understand why he was dropped.
Couch and Hunter Clark also looked good.
Allison kicked 5, and Keeler looked good. Keeler might be good, he moves with a lot of poise for a tall guy.

I'd like to say the game plan sucks, but to be honest I just don't understand the game plan. Am I stupid? Do the players understand the plan or are they too dumb? Make sure we keep Battle and Windhager. Recruit another batch of decent kids. Then look for a couple of quality mids ..like Butters, Gulden or Tom Green .. hopefully around age 23-24 Then a couple of free agents to 'complete' the list so it's good for the next 4-5 years. Oh, we may also need a new c...

Usually where there's smoke there's fire .. King and Owens have both been disappointing this season, and so has Philipou. Actually the whole squad has been quite disappointing, some may suggest lacking passion and positive energy. Some supporters, like me, are frustrated with our game style. It's qu...
