Re: about Daniel Archer

Daniel Archer is 193cm. Not big enough for a 21yo rucking in the AFL. Blakey is shorter but has 200+ games of experience to help him. McEvoy and Stanley will rectify the problem after the bye. It also highlights that we need at least one more ruckman next year. Has anyone heard how Jay Lever is dev...

Re: In One word or short sentence

the numerous attempts of commentators to describe Lenny and his characteristics have lead me to wonder If you were suggesting to a young player to look for a characteristic which player would you say and what best describes our recent champions/ Saints legends? and can it be done in One word- or a ...

Re: I Love Saad...But

I am glad he has come on... he is a cult hero and could be for 10 or so years. However i believe unless he learns to kick on both sides of the footy he will become increasingly frustrating. I like how he takes the game on and tries to run past an opponent, but if he had a left side he wouldnt have ...

Re: Brett Peake where ?

Think Watters has a much stronger belief/theory/level of importance on skill. Peake is quick and can get the ball but his complete lack of a left side is bordering on embaressing. Seen him play the one game at Sandy and he was good, just think that if we are to lift our skill level across the board...

Re: Votes

5. Jason Blake - Sterling job on Waite. Only goal Waite got was a result of a shocking Gilbert turnover in the 1st quarter. 4. Lenny Hayes- Keeps on keeping on. Wins the hard ball, uses it well, typical Lenny performance. 3. Farren Ray - Great come back game. Didn't shirk an issue, used the ball bet...

Love the way this kid goes about it. Tough, quick, strong in the air and can kick both feet. Makes the right decisions too.

Re: CJ needs to go back to locking down on opponents.

I would honestly rather develop another mid who damages the other way… the days of the shut-down tagger are numbered for mine, not many sides carry a bloke that basically can't kick so he can tag an opposition gun… You need a very high quality mid that can do defensive jobs… like Carrazzo… or even ...

Re: Adam Cockie

Kicking isn't that great, although he is tough in close, has neat hands and can snag the odd goal. Can be a bit of a ball magnet at times. We're getting a good look at him at Sandy and if he keeps up his form, may be worth a shot as a mature-age recruit. Myke Cook is another one who is right under o...

I seem to recall more than a few people on here lamenting the fact we didn't have enough forwards (me for one) Now we draft medium lead up forwards with good size and pace and all of a sudden Ruckmen should have been our priority. Last year Big Mac rucked alone as Gardy was injured. Kosi pinch hit ...

Surprise Packages...

Throughout the RL years, we haven't really seen much unforced change in the line-ups. This is a result of our relative on-field success, and his reluctance to change a winning formula. However, I get the feeling that Watters won't be afraid to make some tough calls, and really back some of the youth...

My old man emigrated from Greece when he was 3 years old. My grandparents ran a milk bar in East St Kilda, which is also where Dad attended most of his primary schooling. Naturally enough, when he started taking an interest in sports, he began to follow the fortunes of the Saints. He still tells the...

Hope we dont get Hughes. When kicking for goal it will come off the edge of his foot and go straight out on the full and be caught by a spectator.

Very interesting. Struggle to see it gaining any significant publicity due to it concerning an "irregularity" with one of the Swans' players. Both Garry & Kieran Jack have quashed their previous statements claiming the nomination was lost in the mail, so clearly there is some wrongdoin...

That would be lightning!! Would be interesting to see if it would function though. Stanley and Riewoldt are both more likely to want to mark on the lead, as opposed to a taking a big, contested mark. May just lack that bash-and-crash FF!
