SOLD! 2x Tickets, Level 1, Row A vs Hawthorn
Tickets are now sold! Hi All, I was trying to purchase 2x AFL members tickets to the Essendon vs St Kilda game (in July) and, without realising it, accidentally purchased 2 tickets to tomorrow's game against Hawthorn (which we already have tickets to). Yes, I'm an idiot. They are Level 1, Row A on ...

Re: Umpire 2
The thing is, it's not just the decisions he was paying (which were deplorable)- it was everything he missed. Webster's hit from Yeo, for instance. Webster marked and was hit after the mark- that's 50 metres NOT a free kick. That free kick is useless and stat-padding because he marked it anyway! If ...

Re: Umpires must be reviewed.
What pisses me off most is that NO ONE will say anything. Not Richo, not our CEO...hell, speaking out about the umpires is how we got into this mess in the first place (Thanks Thommo!). And what's worse is that nobody in the media will give it a single mention. We get done in EVERY week and nothing ...

Re: Umpire 2
Unbelievable umpiring today. Foot was the worst (he always is, especially when he umpires against us)- but all 3 of them were blatantly biased towards West Coast. I've never seen such poor umpiring across the entire ground. Corrupt! I bet Foot barracked for the Bulldogs as a kid (not that he looks l...

Re: Changes For Next Week
Yeah, Minch was very good today. His last quarter today was something else! His speed clearing it out of the middle was absolutely outstanding- loved how clean he was with it too, not just blazing away. If he could add more consistency to his game, he'd be a gun. Hopefully he gets another chance in...

Re: VFL Rd 5 Sandringham Vs Frankston - Good win X 2 teams
There today and had the following thoughts Spencer was nowhere today. This was a team he should have been able to blitz. Do not understand him playing forward all game. Could you play him in the centre as he has so much trouble leading to the right areas and finding space. Completely agree re: Spen...

Re: VFL Rd 5 Sandringham Vs Frankston - casey radio 97.7
Judging by this game I'd say ray & Acres in next week. Maybe Membrey if Roo doesn't come up... I think it's line ball whether they go with Membrey or Lee based on today's game. Lee was super impressive today, forward and back, and his disposal was generally cleaner than Membrey's and he was str...

Re: VFL Rd 5 Sandringham Vs Frankston - casey radio 97.7
Just before half-time, they moved Lee forward and in that 3rd quarter, he looked dangerous. Kicked a goal and took a great contested grab before passing it off for a goal. Was looking great in defense earlier- but looking even better forward. Most likely marking forward down there (in one quarter he...

Re: VFL Rd 5 Sandringham Vs Frankston - casey radio 97.7
Few 1/4 time thoughts: - Acres is a beauty. Tries hard, clean disposal. Think we'll he seeing him next week in the seniors. - Lee looking great in defense. Taken a few really strong, contested marks. - Wouldn't be surprised if Ray only spends 1 week at this level. Looks right back to his old self. ...

Re: VFL Rd 5 Sandringham Vs Frankston - casey radio 97.7
Does anyone know what Saunders is doing in the Dev League? Pierce was named in it as well, but both (as well as Kenny Ong) were listed in both the VFL and Dev League teams during the week. My guess would be that, because we have so many players available, we are simply unable to play them all in th...

Re: VFL Rd 5 Sandringham Vs Frankston - casey radio 97.7
Yesterday (and even earlier this morning), Goddard and McCartin weren't listed on the site- they added their names to the list at about 10am today. I'm not sure what's happening but that list was only very recently updated. Also Saunders is listed among the best at QTR time in the Development League.

Re: Channel 7 commentary
What annoyed me most was the Eddie Betts-bias commentary. Bruce was just as damaging down the other end and yet they were ready to Knight Eddie (an actual quote from Hamish) and barely mentioned Bruce at all. 15 disposals, 12 marks, 4 tackles, 5 goals (Bruce) vs 17 disposals, 6 marks, 5 tackles, 6 g...

Way to leave us hanging with McCartin and Goddard! Is it disciplinary or are they being rested?! I don't understand why they both wouldn't train. Panic station, party of one right here.

A few first season forward averages: Lance Franklin: 10.7 disposals, 3.8 marks, 1.1 goals (20 games in 2005) Jarryd Roughead: 11.4 disposals, 4.1 marks, 0.4 goals (16 games in 2005) Tom Hawkins: 8.6 disposals, 3.7 marks, 1.3 goals (9 games in 2007) Jack Riewoldt: 6.6 disposals, 3 marks, 0.9 goals (8...

Nick Riewoldt in his first season (though, if I'm not mistaken, he spent a lot of time down back): 1st Game (R15 2001): 3 disposals, 1 mark, 0 goals 2nd Game (R16 2001): 13 disposals, 8 marks, 0 goals 3rd Game (R17 2001): 19 disposals, 7 marks, 0 goals 4th Game (R18 2001): 7 disposals, 3 marks, 0 go...

Re: Do we start worrying about Paddy McCartin?
I love how you've included Billings in your example when, up until this week, a lot of Saints supporters (and other team supporters) were thinking we'd made a big mistake taking him, especially in light of Bontempelli's success at Pick 4. This week he's a superstar...see how quickly things can chang...

Re: Dogs are ripe for the picking
I don't think we'll win but there has been A LOT of hype surrounding them this week. There's a chance of an upset if they've let all the talk get to their heads and we play as we did against Essendon (for 4 all quarters).

Re: Booing Goddard
It's Footy. Goddard won't give it a second thought and neither should you. Yes, Goddard was a great player for us for a number of years BUT he left for $$$$$$. He was blinded by money and the prospect of winning a premiership and abandoned his teammates (when he would've been our next Captain). I do...

Re: Bruce v Stanley
My feeling with Rhys Stanley is that he had 3 coaches and a lot of time and effort put into him during his tenure at St Kilda. He showed glimpses but was never consistent. He could end up being a powerhouse forward at Geelong BUT he never showed that he could be that at St Kilda. I think they figure...

Ins: Hickey, Weller, Acres
Outs: McCartin, Curren, Saad
I think McKenzie might come in also, but it would have to be for an injury as I can't see them dropping anyone else. If they did, maybe Wright or Shenton?

Judd had a question mark over his fitness going into today's match- did he play alright?
Without Yarran and Judd, I'd fancy us. It's just hard to see how we can win without Riewoldt.
