Re: Philipou’s Manager
It would be naive to think that Pou didn’t have something to say about him be dropped. He’s young, immature and last week was the first time in his careers he’s had to play in the seconds. He’s a prospect, but yet to prove he’ll be a star. I think he’s been he’s been very lucky to play as many game...

Re: Crab watch
I personally find it difficult to get too bothered about losing players like Hind, or Bytel, or Gresham, or even Acres and Billings. All of them have their points, but we've got players coming through now who are likely to be as good or better. I'm bothered more about the 2009 to 2016 period, when we...

Re: Are we going full tilt in 2024????
I'd be tempted that play Collard, too. He's getting low possessions but it's mostly because of the atrocious ball movement and garbage skills and decision making by players up the field. He has more speed and skill than everyone else out there at Sandy. It's perplexing that Owens hasn't been develo...

Re: Changes for Freo
Must win so Ross will no doubt go to experience. Hayes getting subbed out so early might have stamped his card, but I'd keep. Out: Garcia and Hastie to have a spell (managed), Paton In: Clark, Phillipou, Dow I agree, with Dow as the sub (he seems to be only able to deliver for half a game at the mo...

Re: Philipou’s Manager
So, someone that works for a player management company tweeted - on his own account - an observation about a team that he has no idea on the inner workings of? He isn't Phillipou's agent. Nor does he have anything to do with the St Kilda Football Club...It's also not clear how close to Phillipou he...

Re: wallpaper fallen off - cracks exposed
Aggressive trading to get up in draft - North have no big defenders Howard to north with pick swap in first round ( an example of what we need to do) So we then they have a big defender and we don’t? (I don’t think Cordy really counts: he is a utility player and is a bit shorter than Dougal) I assu...

Re: Philipou’s Manager
Lyon will be given the heat But how much is contributed by forward coach (Robert harvey) and players themselves? Well, it's always the players who ultimately determine whether a game is won or lost. But Lyon is a control freak, as was demonstrated by his whinge on Saturday afternoon about not being...

Re: wallpaper fallen off - cracks exposed
Putting together a string of wins and growing the confidence of the young players we currently have would be far more important than having a more valuable ticket in the lottery of the end of season draft. And there's also the question of attracting members and sponsors. We are coming into a dangero...

Re: Philipou’s Manager
The tweet was inappropriate, but is it a sign that the drums are beating?
RTB’s press conference performance on Saturday was embarrassingly poor.
Things feel a little shaky at the moment. A bundle of goals against Freo would help.

No chance of him being promoted this week. He was heaps better last week. I don't think he's entirely out of the picture, though.

Re: Sandy at Wonthaggi
Clark definitely deserves a call up to the seniors, most likely for Hastie. I'm not sure about Dow. In both the games I've seen Dow play, he has struggled with the pace in the early stages and has only begun to deliver much after half time. At AFL level the players tend to be a little fitter, so the...

Re: Sandy at Wonthaggi
Geez stiff 50m penalty on Collard Nope. It was 100% there. Collard has finished off a shocking individual game by gifting the Hawks a win. He should be dropped from the Zebras for their next game. You are tough As I watched it I said to myself “if you spin the Hawks player around one more time it’l...

Re: Sandy at Wonthaggi
I am sure that he has done more than that. As I said earlier, there are three guys playing for us with headbands who all look very similar, so the stats guys might have misattributed some of his acts to others. Alternatively, perhaps I have done so. Don't try to watch it because we are shocking. Our...

Re: Sandy at Wonthaggi
The concept that either or both of Dow and Jones would improve our midfield isn't getting much support from what we've seen so far. Philippou is doing enough perhaps to get a recall to the AFL team. I think O'Connell looks very promising. That's about it so far.

I was vaguely looking forward to this game, but it's a waste of time.
I feel sorry for BM who is presumably there.

Re: Sandy at Wonthaggi
Caminiti just had a horrible attempt at a left-foot snap. And Hunter Clarke just got run down in defence which resulted in a goal to the opposition. Zac Jones just stuffed up a handball and a kick straight to the opposition. Patty Dow just missed misjudged a kick to a forward. Halfway through the f...
