Re: Interesting, as per usual...
Interesting post. We used pick 26 on Howard? Jesus. I can't remember Sweeney at all. Sounds like there wasn't much to remember. One comment on a draftee's worth being determined by which pick was actually used on them - that's true as far as each club selects the best available player. Where they ar...

Re: Our Best Trade Week Maybe Ever
That's how I saw it too. If they'd sold him cheaply it would indicate that the contract wasn't worth much, but the fact that they didn't get a suitable trade but kept him put the power in their hands.

Re: POLL: Do you support the PRIDE game concept?
Keep politics and issues like this out of footy. We just want some good old fashioned footy... Rubbish IMO, sports attract kids and are one of the best ways of introducing them to real world concepts around inclusiveness and respect for those around who differ in race, religion, sexual preference o...

I'm just happy if he's out on the park. If he's playing at a lower level it means he'll be more in control of his running and less likely to be required to suddenly take off on a sprint.

Re: Anyone else disappointed with too many wins this year?
I watched a recording of Aaron Hamill on Open Mike the other day and he was talking about the noticeable difference in culture when he switched clubs, in that at Carlton they expected to win, while at St Kilda they didn't (though our side was pretty average at that point). We need to have a culture ...

It's great that they want to embrace the club, and it's great that Nicky is able to return for this cause. Fantastic all round. Love the initiative by the club too.

I'm struggling to get my head around the fact that Tynan is the same person as the little kid I saw walking around the outer at Moorabbin 20 years ago.

He's channelling Matthew Lloyd. As long as he emulates his feats on the ground I can live with that.

When challenged on anything his response was "so what" or something similar. He didn't take respond for anything that he did or that went wrong in his career.

They could do worse than to get Winmar to teach them how to kick. His kicking action was the most beautiful thing this side of Monica Bellucci.

Is there no restriction on trading someone within 12 months of signing a contract? I thought there was, but maybe I'm thinking of clubs selling players in the EPL. Or I could just be wrong entirely.

I always thought that annoying bimbo with the whiney voice who yells inanities at us during the breaks was some pestilence heaped upon us by a ponytail in our marketing department. But there she was on Saturday night yelling her high decibel whiney inanities at the Bulldog supporters. So apparently...

A lot of people seem to dislike him, but I've never had a problem with him. I suppose I don't give much attention to opposition players though. 427 AFL games is far more than most of us will achieve in our lifetimes.

Re: Crowd last night
I've only got a home membership because I go away a bit for work, and staying at home last night was quite an appealing prospect. It was freezing and I didn't feel like paying $25 for a likely loss. However I dragged myself out and was rewarded for doing so. It was great to be there for such a good ...

I like them as a club, but a lot of their fans have been pigs towards us. They seem to have a chip on their shoulder, especially re 2009, even though we were clearly the best side of the course of that season.

Re: Billings.
Yeah if he becomes the type of player we hope he will, he'll be a gun. He's played 17 (?) fewer games than Bont, largely due to injury, so it's perhaps not surprising that he's not performing at the same level at this stage of his career. Fast forward a season and I hope we're creating more positive...

Goddard was like a deer in the headlights early in his career. Sometimes it takes a while for young players to adjust to the pace of the game at the highest level.
