Re: Team v Lions
Half our backline wiped out. Wanganeen-Milera is equally our most important player. Sinclair will have to stay in the back half if we're to have any chance in this game.
If we get within 2 goals, we'll have done well.

Re: saints interested in players already
He's a small forward. He's also had off field issues in the past. I'd pay that money for Shai Bolton, but Stenglein is worth absolutely no more than what Geelong is willing to pay him. We'd be out of our minds to offer that kind of money

Re: Changes at end of the year
You don't' give up one of your best players in the middle of their career for a draft pick that may not get you anything special. Quality key defenders are like gold.

Re: Schoenmaker
Hope they don't give him a defensive role against a giant. It's not within his skillset at the moment. He has a lot to learn about one on one defensive work.
Hope he does well. Pretty tough game to play as your first

Re: 3 veterans are done
If there's a total clean-out this year, then who do you de-list the following year? Every club is obliged to de-list at least 3 players each year. You can't lave yourself with a situation where you have a year where you can't de-list anyone because you've invested in so many kids and have no retirin...

Re: RTB finger on the pulse
There are some connection issues, for sure. There are also dumb decisions and unforced errors made by our players that can't be controlled from the coaches box. Our new midfield group since the Eagles game will take another couple of weeks to develop some real synergy. The combination of Clark, Wind...

Re: RTB finger on the pulse
And on Saturday night we played a team with a gun midfield. We won. And we won because the coaching strategy thwarted Gold Coast's highly talented mids.

Re: RTB finger on the pulse
According to some on here when we lose its because we're hopeless and when we win we're equally hopeless and only win through extraordinary luck. The negativity is getting quite tiresome. Sticking the boots into Ross Lyon has become quite a trend, both on here and in the media. We have a solid back ...

Re: RTB finger on the pulse
We did a lot right in the first half. We were solid in defence and didn't give them any room to do their run and gun from their midfield. Should have been 6 goals up half way through the second had it not been for a couple of fluffed opportunities I thought the coaching was good. We controlled the g...

Re: Ross Lyon you do my head in
Yep, our forward line was awful. We controlled the game well in the first half. I thought tactically our set up in the midfield and defense was solid and was working for us. In the first 40 minutes of the game our forwards were on the move and leading up to take marks about 40m out form goal. Then, ...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns
Let's not forget the multiple free kicks King should have got throughout the game. He gets held off the ball all the time. What about Matt Rowell's obvious holding the ball 25m out from our goal? What about the knee to Hunter Clark's head late in the game? What about the 25m kick to Mason Wood in th...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns
Watching the game live, it's apparent to me that our forwards are now the biggest issue. No leading, leading at the wrong time, leading to the wrong spots, not getting up the ground when required, not working for each other. This is Robert Harvey's domain and I'd have to say he's failing miserably i...

Re: Sandy vs GC
Once again, no system. Drew the game in spite of themselves. Tom Campbell is a star at VFL level. Phillipou looked slow again. I can't work out if it's a genuine lack of leg speed or just a poor reaction time. Can't see him getting back into the AFL team soon. Byrnes was just okay. Good last quarter...

Re: Changes for Gold Coast
Crouch will be better value when he's 100% fit. He missed most of pre-season and most of the first 10 games of the season. This is his pre-season now.
He may need at least 2 more at Sandy before being considered
I wouldn't pay much attention to him being listed as an emergency

Re: Draft Strategy
It's all about $$$$$$ from Gresham. He was on a huge contract with us. Now he's on a huge contract at Essendon. You have to wonder about their salary cap. Gresham would be ranked about 17th on their list, yet he's on big money. However, I'm sure The Bombers, true to form, are sticking by the rules :...

Re: ..at the risk of positivity ..
200cm+ key forwards are so rare. To give one away would be insane.
Okay, he's not Nick Riewoldt or Jeremy Cameron, but he's a handful for opposition backmen. The only reason you would move him on is if you had an equally tall, agile forward who's ready to blossom.
