Re: Predictions this Round
West coast much improved on their home deck They will be feeling like they can win this Confidence, self belief and attacking footy wins games A defence first mind set promotes a fear of losing and a fear of making mistakes mindset as compared to an attacking confident mindset (eg Collingwood 2023) ...

Re: Membrey
Who actually chairs the match committee these days ? Does that role even exist because selection has been baffling this year. Young kids getting promoted when they are clearly not ready , or holding their place in the seniors when they clearly don’t deserve to. The development coach needs to take so...

Re: Mid season draft
Apart from Garcia , have we had a mid playing at Sandy that has looked dangerous ? Even Crouch and Clark last weekend butchered their disposals. So I guess Hall doesn’t have a hell of a lot of competition is what I’m saying. He probably just needs to play 1 maybe 2 good games and then go straight in...

Re: Pick 3 in the draft
We are not getting McKay style compo for Battle. Furthermore , you watch the AFL rules change on compo as the big clubs pit the heat on the AFL . They want the good players from the bottom clubs as FA , but they also want access to the top end draft picks so shunting them back in the order doesn’t s...

Re: Zebras v Tigers
Just shows how out of touch our match committee is
Could have left Pou in for another week, let him pick 20+ in the midfield and watch his confidence soar.
Instead, we crush his confidence by playing him when he is down on confidence and not ready .

Re: Cold Hard Facts
This is what i see when i watch us play. Ball goes into forward line. Tall forwards regularly drop marks despite getting their hands on the ball. Ball hits the ground - we cant lock it in, ball goes back out of the forward line. When our tall forwards do take a mark, they arent able to convert. When...

Barring injury , sure Dow comes in vs Freo.
Play Battle up forward next week, and bring big Arie in.
Garcia looks ready for a spell in the 2s - and same could be said for Hastie

Re: Thank you St Kilda
We are a lot further away than i realised. I thought we could be competing for a top 6 spot next year, and top 4 spot the year after. The reality is there is no timeline for a top 4 spot . Everyone knows we need to add at least a couple of high quality mids to the list. LDU + 1 more. We need another...

Re: Byrnes, Bonner Not up to it..
Depth players for sure. We have injuries right now, so guess what , they get a game. Sometimes they play their role well - sometimes they don’t. That’s what happens with fringe players. There will be other players ahead of them in the delist queue for now. It’s up to the younger players to go past t...

Re: Playing the kids
Yes we are probably playing too many skinny first year players. Garcia provides good tackle pressure in the forward line. In many ways not dissimilar to Butler. Henry probably squeezes Garcia out this week. Did Dow do enough to earn a recall ? I don’t think so, but is still probably ahead of Hastie....

Re: James Van Es
Delist and redraft onto the rookie list. Gives him another 12 months.
I don’t think he showed enough to retain his spot on the main list. Free up that spot on the main list.
No other club will pick him up given his injury history.
Should be an easy decision.

Re: In a way the Hawks will be the ultimate test .
Like it or not, if we want to play finals , then this is a must win game. We have a poor record interstate especially in Tassie. Hawks have a good record in Tassie - and beat us on our home deck Marvel last time we played, They will be chock full of confidence after a big win and knowing they beat u...

Re: Phillipou Close to Signing
If we can get 2 first round picks from either of the SA teams for Pou then take them and run. I’ve been a supporter of Pou until now, but I am struggling to see what exactly is his point of difference that is going to make him a superstar. We can see it with Wilson (pace and endurance) , Garcia (spe...

Members is a shadow of his former self Ross is on his last legs Pou has been on a gradual downward slide since round 7 last year. To think he kept Garcia out of the team against the Bombers and for 3/4 against the Giants. Garcia tonight exposed the stupidity of this myth of keep Pou in the team at a...

My 2nd in person game this year
Gather round was my first.
Give us that skinny Norwood oval and the Dogs don’t split us open anywhere near as much - but we’d still lose comfortably

Yes agree Butler using up all his goodwill.
He would want to get a few on the scoreboard this week.
Collard unlucky he got injured at Sandy last week.

if they both come in , (and assuming they are replacing players not injured) and we lose the game, then we are not serious about playing finals this year.

Re: Phillipou Close to Signing
we all know Pou is super confident in his own ability. I'd be fairly certain that he would also think he will be worth a big salary because he expects to be ripping up the competition. Problem is that right now , he is not delivering at the level he would want or expect of himself. So he probably in...

So we’ve established that they play differently.
That’s great news as it means that there should be room for both in our forward line !
Throw the cheque book at Ben and bring him home - along with a couple of midfielders.
