Greg Swann (Carlton CEO) said that he knew fairly early that Collingwood would be unable to secure Fevola or Ball because of the Jolly deal. This was in answer to a question regarding Fev wanting to go to Collingwood. Don't think it would have taken a crystal ball for Greg Swann to figure that one ...

If both sides were eager to do a deal for Ball and both are now sorry that the deal couldn't be done I wonder why the mediator wasn't called in to try and resolve the issue.

Seems to have worked in getting Burgoyne to Hawthorn.

I don't really understand why more interest wasn't shown in Luke by other Clubs. I know that he nominated Collingwood as the Club he wished to be traded to but Fev nominated St Kilda and Collingwood and he is going to Brisbane. Not sure that I heard that anyone else was interested or had approached ...

From memory he (Brown) trained with them prior to last year's draft and was then picked up. I wonder how much notice Club's take of these actions - do you risk drafting a player who doesn't want to play for you. or would Luke Ball be considered a much better player than, say, Brown and you take your...

Was also looking for news and was just reading a note on the Herald-Sun site which said that all the Clubs only meet at Etihad Stadium on the Monday and Friday of this week, all other negotiations are conducted between themselves.

May make it a little bit harder to get any news.!!

Re: Fev Up for Trade - Nominates Saints

Carlton has officially stated that they will be seeking a trade for Fevola who has nominated the Saints and Hawks as his preferred club. Fevola does NOT have a say in it. Time he realised that it's not about him, it's about the Club. Carlton will do a trade that best fits the Club and not Fevola. A...

Saints on the 7.30 Report tonight

Featured interviews with Darrel (!!) Baldock, Barry Breen, Francis Leach and Michael Roberts. All emphasised that it was up to today's players to make their own history on Saturday. Had a quick look on their website and today's program is not up as yet. When it does come up and if you want to have a...

Great to see.

Surely just adds that little extra bit of inspiration.
Channel 7 showed a nice close up of him talking to Kosi (I think) in the changerooms after the game.

Warney is still a Saints man and he will always be ... His son barracks for Essendon, hence the Bombers link. I think Nick's brother was working for the Saints at one stage, not sure if he still is. Grew up watching Nick's uncles play. Remember Chris, Peter and Ray playing for Clarence in the then TFL. The only one I don't remember seeing play was Joe, Nick's dad, but he might have been a bit before my time!!

Young Jackson (?) Warne's affiliation to the Bombers was mentioned earlier this year in one of the sports "gossip"columns in the Sunday papers. From memory, one of Shane's parents is an Essendon supporter and Matthew Lloyd popped around to the Warne's home for a kick to sure up young Warni...
