Re: Round 7 - St Kilda v Carlton - Discussion

i tell you after last week two things are almost certain. 1. hawthorn arent that great and certainly are not premiership contenders based on current form 2. saints will be lucky to make the 8 sure the umpiring was awful and we got the rough end of the stick with injuries to crucial structural playe...

Also top 1%

Simpkin- 12
Blake- 9
McEvoy- 8
Dempster- 8
Gilbert- 6

Some not so popular players in there but perhaps the above helps explain why the coaches like them.

Re: Mcevoy -33 in hitout count !

jamar is a good player and 5 years older than macca. peak of his powers at 28. macca is going fine. will be a gun player when he is 28. Exactly no club can afford to wait that long for a player to improve - the club needed to recruit an older ruckmen to fill the void! We did, several times. Do you ...

Re: Armo

Agreed great game by Armo which he ran out strongly . Big test next week against Hawks. Easily the most important thing about his game today- seems to have really improved his endurance/work rate. still got a bit crampy at the end :-) He did didn't he. I wonder what he could do to improve that. Is ...

Tackle count

102-98 tackles WOW! Winning a game as tough as that should be praised no matter who the opponent. Our top 5 tacklers Steven- 11- Great game, really took them on and worked hard without the footy. Jones- 11- Typical workmen like game, can't complain but didn't impress me like others. Armo- 9- Has rea...

Never been a Gram fan but thought it was a solid first game back. Has time when he gets the pill and laid a few good tackles.

Re: Mcevoy -33 in hitout count !

Mcevoy -33 in hitout count ! I have said it before but we are never going to be a top 4 side with this guy as our No 1 ruckman. Jamar absolutely destroyed him tonight & McEvoy didn't even give a peep! I can't believe people have touted him as our next captain. IMO the club has really erred with...

Re: Why that was a fantastic win

You are easily pleased. If you believe what you are saying then you must think what i think and know we are going down and already an average side. And the conditions had nothing to do with it  We were cruising until it rained and brought a 6 goal lesser team back into it. Good win in tough c...

Re: Rumour File, Home games in NZ

If true, words fail me. What an appalling decision. Once we abandoned Tassie, our second spiritual home (there are an insane number of Saints supporters down here), we should have stuck to our guns and not gone in for this sort of caper ever again. Hell will surely freeze over before AFL ever makes...

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs

Grams spot is being taken by Geary at the moment so he needs to earn his recall. Leave Newnes in for the time being as we're only playing Melbourne and it can't do him any harm to have another game. Cripps is struggling a bit and needs time in the VFL. So that equates to; Out : Cripps, Kosi In : Le...

Re: Queens Birthday Mel/Coll monopoly

Not only do the Pies have a strangehold on Anzac Day, but they seem to have one on Queens Birthday Monday as well! Melbourne are the fortunate other party to this nice bit of AFL-endorsed collusion, which is madness. Surely Queens Birthday could be shared around, even if Anzac Day can't? Why should...

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs

If Ledger doesn't get a game he must be still doing something wrong off field IMO. Out Kosi Cripps and Newnes In Wilkes Ledger and Gram as sub He himself has mentioned he doesn't have the tank to last a full game at AFL level at the moment. I suspect he's probably still doing some intense fitness w...

Football Club Fundraiser

Move to general if you have to but thought the good people of Saintsational would be happy to help out a local football club. My football club (the Monash Gryphons) has set up the below initiative to raise money for the club. Gryphbay is an initiative set up by the players to donate items to the clu...

Re: We could be 4-0

Einstein, have premiership teams been two and two after losing to the likes of Port and then Freo at home FFS? I highly doubt it. Had we lost our games to quality opposition, the fair enough. Freo in Melbourne is hardly quality. I recommend reading the following season. You should know this it was ...

Re: Scott W talking to Umps Boss !!

But plugger will keep defending the umps and the AFL. Where the Faark is a proper investigation re umpires and how it can be done better? They missed plenty of obvious Freo frees also. Something is wrong. Surely it can be done much better. I can handle the 50/50's not being paid. The AFL should rev...

Re: We could be 4-0

Should have beaten Port and we had nothing but chances to ice tonight's game. Poor execution, leading to turn-overs that made us pay. We had more than enough of the ball to win, but we weren't good enough to capitalise on our many opportunities. Freo, were good enough to capitalise on their more li...

IMHFO, Goddard should be permanent full forward. He would be absolutely devastating. Not only would he probably kick 100 goals per season but he would create so many other goals with his precision passing. This is a 'No Brainer"!!!!!! Could we give this poster a warning. There are kids ...
